I'm participating in the @trumpman contest and I have to say it was a great idea. I love to participate in contests and this feat especially for the Leofinance community I will feel very comfortable telling my story. More details can be found here.

As the title suggests, we should tell you about our worst experience with a particular investment. Obviously we are not super heroes so at least something can someone say that made you miserably upset right? For this edition it will not be any token ... I will talk about my biggest investment made in crypto since I started to enter this incredible digital universe.

It was September 2017 and I had just invested in a token called Oceanlab (OCL). An ICO that was made through the Waves platform. I don't remember how many Waves I spent to buy OCL, but what I remember is that the token hit the market for US $ 0.019 and like every day of a crypto I took advantage of some evictions to accumulate more.

It was an innovative project at the time and what made me want to put my money into that project was the promise of some resources that the Waves ecosystem would benefit from. They already had a website running that was Gravit and a pool, but what called me attention was the POS4All service.

POS4All is a service (POS) from Oceanlab capable of providing proof of participation for any token on the Waves platform. The dividend rewards will be predefined, periodically and proportionally to the amount you own, with a set of parameters defined by the token creator and generally known to users.

The chance that my tokens on the Waves platform would be able to passively earn some dividends was the icing on the cake for me to profit a lot. OCL was worth around $ 0.12 and I was very deluded to think that I had made my investment of the year.

It was then that as you know ... late 2017, BTC, FUD and everything bad happened in the crypt market. BTC started to plummet and so the alts were living their bleeding moment. In this curious moment, the OCL project's dev had to "move away" from social networks and be actively attentive to the community because he claimed to be in personal trouble.

It was at that time that many experienced investors saw it as a way to "abandon the ship" and my conservative thinking was still optimistic as OCL was still worth $ 0.042 and despite consecutive declines in the market it was still in profit.

Time passed and OCL started to plummet until it reached the center of the Earth and it was the moment that I started to worry, because that brief profit I had was no more. The Oceanlab team proposed a kind of "loyalty program" for holders of the token and depending on how much you had in your wallet, they would send you dividends.

But that sort of thing didn't last long and after a long time the dev returned to warn that the OCL project would no longer continue. For those who wanted to recover some fraction of their investment, they placed a purchase wall with the rest of the tokens they received at ICO. What was claimed by them is that this fall of BTC screwed up their lives and they did not have enough money to carry on with the project. Result ... I managed to recover only 2 Waves when I got to sell all my OCL.

We learned some lessons about investing at times in the most painful way possible and today I do not regret it even though I lost about 200 Waves at the time and I was very naive and did not have much idea about investment. The knowledge I have today I believe is not even 10% that I had before. We learn from mistakes and this learning I will take throughout my life.

I want to thank @trumpman again for giving me this opportunity to talk a little about my story in a contest. I thought your initiative was really cool. I hope that the readers who have made it this far will feel free to participate. I find it very valid to be able to share our experiences and I like to read other thoughts.

I call to participate in the contest @taskmaster4450le, @uyobong and @wiseagent.
