Week 03 Results | 6W-10L-3P | -1.271 Units Loss

This is a weekly overview of my personal sports betting/trading results on teams from the Belgian Jupiler League documenting my journey toward long-term profit with some insights on my overall approach.

I was unable to bounce back from a bad week yesterday and added 1.271 units to to overall loss so far this season. I'm still not in a good form yet with too many bets that were rather brave which I shouldn't have taken and also luck not yet on my side. I also started to become more tight on the bets and the stakes with the main goal not to dig too big of a hole. Right now at just -3 units on the season and 27 weeks to go + playoffs there is nothing really lost yet even though it would have been way more comfortable to be up.

I still just need to do better overall and put some more time and focus in it to find a better edge as the market just gets tighter and tighter each year. So my focus will mostly go on that as I'm far from ready to give up on betting. In the end though, it needs to be profitable in order for me to really continue and I can't say that at the moment I'm crushing this market. I do have good hopes though and these bad times are part of it. Things could get a lot worse and I'm easily able to handle a -15 unit downswing without having to change much.

Pre-Game Preview Bets Season 2022-2023

I tightened up like crazy when it came down to the official pre-game selections having just one which did end up in half a winner and was a good pick. So at least that's something to pull me up on. I'll keep things tight for now and will see where it all goes.

When things go badly it's good to zoom out and look at the overall graph which had multiple downswings of 10+ units and very long break even stretches while still showing perfectly normal upside behavior and ROI over the long run. It should be only a matter of time before I'm getting in some kind of hot streak. For now in the short term, I'm giving up the idea to stake at least 10 units in any given week even though that is still my goal. This week was a tight one with just 3.439 units staked also because none of the matchups really did it for me.
