Playoffs Week 5 Tuesday Previews

These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

Busy schedule ahead with matches in each the coming 6 days starting with 3 Playoff 2 matches that all will be played at the same time tonight.

Westerlo vs OH Leuven

Westerlo has nothing left to play for in Playoff 2 and are just playing their matches which so far ended in 3-3 / 3-2 / 0-3 / 2-0 results taking 1 on 12 and getting 11 goals against. The good thing however is that they actually started to score themselves and it can be expected today that it will be another match where they will just try win and entertain their fans without making it into a defensive affair. OHL despite having nothing to play for seems to still be motivated and found their winning form lately putting up ok performances with Maertens back in the team making a difference. In their matches so far they played 1-0 (win against stvv who played more defensive) | 2-1 (surprise win at home against AA Gent) | 0-0 (away against Standard) | 2-3 (at home against Mechelen). I do see a fairly good chance that this will be one of those matches with a ton of goals and I was willing to take a 0.3 unit gamble on Over 3.5 @ 2.631 I also took a 0.07 unit bet on OHL Team Total Over 1.5 @ 2.160

Standard vs Kv Mechelen

Standard at times in the match against Westerlo last weekend showed really sloppy defense but they still managed to come back from a 3-1 score after bringing in Alzate. It remains the question if they will play their best 11 or play with an eye on next season as they have nothing to play for. Mechelen lost against AA Gent which now puts them at a 4 point gap and only a win really will do today if they have some ambition left to still win playoff 2. Standard had 3 crazy scores of 3-3 / 3-3 / 5-1 and 1 boring 0-0 at home against OHL in a match where there were no fans. Given the poor defense and the fact that Mechelen needs to take risks to win combined with some of the previous crazy Playoff 2 scorelines, I had to go for 0.2 units on Over 3.5 @ 2.909 in this one. Mechelen so far had all their matches in playoff 2 go to 4 or more goals.

Sint-Truiden vs AA Gent

Sint-Truiden clearly didn't play with an eye to try to win playoff 2 and they are now also fully out of the race after a 1-0 away loss against OHL. Their strategy seems to have been to go for it at home resulting in 3-3 and 2-0 scores while playing for a 0-0 up to minute 60 and then go for it which resulted in 1-0 and 2-3 score away. I also here expect a match where at home they just go for it and try to win the match without any fear of losing or getting goals against. AA Gent so far dominated playoff 2 with 5-1 / 0-3 / 3-1 wins with the odd 2-1 away loss against OHL. I'm going into this match with an eye on AA Gent and the over as the lines right now feels adjusted at 3 and -0.5. A lot will depend of the strategy of Stvv and if AA Gent actually plays well or has an off day as in OHL. No Pre-Game Bets
