Defibookie.io | Initial look & Impression!

I'm always on the lookout for now GambleFi projects that have a revenue share like SBET (Sportbet.one), BFG (Betfury.io), RLB (Rollbit.com), OWL (Owl.Games), SX (Sx.Bet) and Defibookie.io is the latset that got on my radar. This is my initial impression & investment.

It's not easy to find these projects even when you are in the space and I randomly got accross Defibookie.io after reading a tweet from @bulldog1205 after which I had a closer look at it.

First Impression

Many of the Crypto sportsbooks are a 99% copy of each other using the same odds and software. This however is not the case for Defibookie.io which has a fairly simple straightforward layout with American odds as the default.

The odds at first sight are around 1.91-1.91 which is not competitive enough but when taking a deeper look, there doesn't seem to be an instant adjustment when the market moves which leaves some opportunities.

You can't just log in with Metamask which is a bummer but you need to make an account with an e-mail address and they claim to be accessible to everyone with the deposits and withdrawals traceable on chain.

They are a Solana native bookie and used to be called solbookie but got a rebrand to defibookie. They already had an NFT collection and also are rebranding that allowing original holders to swap. 50% of the casino profit will de paid out to the NFT holders. Once the mint is done there will be a way to stake your NFTs

My general first impression was one where I was not blow away since I never see this becoming my go-to crypto bookie but at the same time intrigues because I see the potential in having a solana based bookie that pays out dividends in my GambleFi Portfolio.

First User Experience

They do offer bets on the Belgian League and I wanted to test it out so I quickly made an account using an e-mail address. The first time I checked out the deposit there was a big gap between the amount deposited and what could be received but it looks like the gas fees of the moment have a lot to do with that. There are multiple deposit & withdrawal options and all get converted in their native DFBC which equals 1$. I assume they somehow pool all the deposits together and process withdraws from that assuming the bookie is profitable.

However, you never know with these things and I prefer betting straight from my own wallet as setups like this generally end in problems at some point in time and they are the one reason why crypto exists.

I did make an initial deposit of 22$ and got a 25% bonus which requires a 5x rollover.

Bonus Offer: each day I believe players are able to make a deposit getting 25% extra which needs to be rolled over 5 times (6 including the bonus) up to 250$ before it can be withdrawn.

I assume some players will take advantage of this sooner rather than later. The USDC deposit I made from Polygon took just over 1 hour to be processed but it was done correctly.

NFT collection & Investment

I love the way Rollbit NFTs work and how they bring fun to the way dividends are distributed. Currently they mint of the NFT is ongoing and the public mint went live a couple hours ago after there was a whitelist period for previous owners. 1 mint costs 5 SOL (~107$) and currently there are 319 left of what in total will be 2222 NFT's with 998 of those who owned a Solbookie NFT. I'm not quite sure how these old holders aren't getting inflated out of their NFT and how it will work in the future.

I did end up minting 5 myself with an eye to just track the performance in my weekly GambleFi Portfolio update posts. It's only ~550$ which doesn't give me much skin in the game but enough to have some exposure while it being fully ok in case it never really turns into something or if it's just a scam even though that would suck.

Without any expectation, I will see how it goes and I will be getting more info along the way on this project.

Conclusion

While these projects are always a big risk, my first impression of Defibookie.io is good enough to make a minor initial investment while also trying things out as a bettor. I'm not expecting much from it but it would be nice if this one would turn out giving some more passive earnings going forward. I will have more info and details later down the line.
