Belgian League 2023-2024 | Weekly News & Transfers Roundup

I'm trying to keep up to date with all the transfer news happening in the Belgian League during the summer bringing weekly reports on it with an eye on beating the Betting Market in the 2023-2024 Season once again ...

I have highly enjoyed the Sorare Fantasy Football NFT Play2Earn game last season and can recommend it to everyone who is a football fan and watches many matches as it certainly gives them an added dimension. I'm also using the transfer window to possibly pick up some good deals along the way.

The transfer window pretty much is in full force with all teams looking to properly build their squad for the new season.

Biggest News & Transfers So Far...

Anderlecht

Anderlecht made their 2nd big transfer with Louis Patris who is a 22-year-old defender from OHL who played an excellent season and was one of the revelations and also plays for the Belgian Under 21 team. Some other teams like Club Brugge also were interested in him but it was Anderlecht who signed him for 5 years with a transfer price around 3.5 Million.

Union

Teuma made a transfer to Reims for 3.5 Million and Kandouss will make the move to AA Gent. Union also lost Adingra who was on loan from Brighton while they likely will lose some more key players like Boniface even though right now he is still with the team.

AA Gent

So Kandouss made the move from Union to AA Gent to replace Ukumu who left AA Gent. There is also a lot of interest from Lille and some other teams for Orban with AA Gent playing it hard aiming to get the most of their striker who they paid just 3.3 Million for not so long ago. They should get at least 20 Million and he's likely to leave the team as it's just too good of a deal for AA Gent who aim to remain healthy financially.

Kv Kortrijk

Martin Wasinski was on loan last year from Charleroi. He's a 19-year-old defender and as Charleroi has more than enough defenders he isn't sure of his place there so the loan was extended for another season.

Club Brugge

SSome of the better players have left the team with potentially more following. Mata was sold to Lyon which got them 5 Million which is not bad for a 30-year-old player who had an overall declining form and some injury issues even though each time he was in the team he managed to put up some good performances. Lang was transferred to PSV and his offensive creativity most likely will be missed. It does look like Meunier will return to his former team at the age of 31. Van Den Keybus did not stand out similarly to De Cuyper and Club Brugge did not have further plans with him. A deal was found with Westerlo where they are pleased with his performances so he will likely have a spot in their A-Squad there next season.

Kv Mechelen

Mechelen similar to last season still doesn't look like the team with most quality. After striker Lauberbach who doesn't really have the stats, they also acquired Daam Foulon who is a 24-year old Belgian Defender who played for Benevento these past years. They also got defender Rafik Belghali from Belgian 2nd division team Lommel. So pretty much all low-budget transfers so far.

Probably a lot more transfers the coming week as the practice matches also are getting started with about a month left before the start of the new season.
