Belgian League 2023-2024 | News & Transfers Update #2

I'm trying to keep up to date with all the transfer news happening in the Belgian League during the summer bringing weekly reports on it with an eye on beating the Betting Market in the 2023-2024 Season once again ...

I have highly enjoyed the Sorare Fantasy Football NFT Play2Earn game last season and can recommend it to everyone who is a football fan and watches many matches as it certainly gives them an added dimension. I'm also using the transfer window to possibly pick up some good deals along the way.

Last week I did the top 8 teams that played playoffs and I'm doing all the others now.

Biggest News & Transfers So Far...

Charleroi

So far there have been 3 incoming Transfers with Antoine Bernier (Seraing) – Zan Rogelj (WSG Tirol) – Oday Dabbagh (Arouca) and just 1 outgoing transfer with Kayembe who went to Genk. There will likely be more transfers as they will have a hard time to keep Zorgane who was one of the revelations last season.

OH Leuven

So far they lost Mousa Tamari to Montpellier who was a good starter. They so far only did 1 incoming transfer with Suphanat Mueanta who comes from Leicester. Mario Gonzalez also is at the end of his loan and he won't be with the team anymore next season.

Anderlecht

With near 100% certainty, their main goalkeeper revelation Verbruggen will leave bringing in roughly 20 Million. Their 2nd goalkeeper Vancrombrugge also is set to potentially leave possibly to Genk. They are working on a lot of transfer cases with priority to find a striker while many of the more expensive older players didn't have their contract extended. Lior Refaelov (Maccabi Haïfa) – Adrien Trebel – Aristote Nkaka – Mohammed Dauda – Timon Wellenreuther are all out

Sint-Truiden

Lost of players left Stvv which leaves them with having to built nearly and entire new team. They also have a new coach in Thorsten Fink . Ryotaro Ito has been their biggest transfer so far who is a midfielder that managed to put up great stats in Japan last season with an average of 60 in Sorare during the last 15 matches. They also got Bruno Godeau who was a bench defender in AA Gent and Fréderic Ananou along with Ryoya Ogawa (no games played) and Rihito Yamamoto (26 score on sorare) keeping up wth the tradition to have a lot of Japanese players. They lost Bernd Hollerbach – Kenny Steppe– Toni Leistner – Robert Bauer – Gianni Bruno – Wolke Janssens – Rocco Reitz – Shinji Okazaki – Taichi Hara - Keo Boets – Frank Boya – Mory Konaté – Jorge Teixeira so this team will be a big questionmark.

Kv Mechelen

Mechelen showed a lack of player quality but doesn't really have the budget to do much it seems. So far they only did 1 transfer with Lion Lauberbach who is a 24-year-old striker that was end of contract in German 2nd Division where he wasn't really able to put up very good stats. They lost Dries Wouters (Schalke 04) – Lucas Bijker – Birger Verstraete – Alessio Da Cruz – Iebe Swers – Samuel Oum Gouet and their main goalkeeper Coucke has some interest from Club Brugge while their 2nd goalkeeper also might leave.

Kortrijk

Kortrijk which was owned by Vincent Tan was sold for 15 Million to Kaminski Group of Maciek Kaminski who are american and they have no exeprience with a football club. They lost their coach Storck along with their best defender Watanabe. So far there have been no incoming transfers aside from some players who return from loan. Youssef Challouk (terug RWDM) – Marko Ilic (Colorado Rapids) – Aleksandar Radovanovic (Austin FC)

Eupen

Eupen saw their coach Still and some key players leave in Pervljak & Peeters who both are still looking for a new team. so far they have only a new coach in Florian Kohfeldt but still a lot of work to do during the transfer window.

I'll start doing a general overview with the biggest transfers next week...
