Paloma 5

“I don't understand, old woman," Paloma said.

“Are you some kind of soothsayer?” Etoma asked, and I was surprised.

“You will both be worshiped just like someone who has won a battle," the woman said.

“I don't understand what you mean, old one," Etoma said.

“Your town is suffering from a disease that no one has been able to find a solution to. You two will find the best solution to it right here, the old woman said.

It became something that gladdens the hearts of Paloma and Etoma. They were just curious to know how and when it was going to come through.

“Who and how will this happen?” Etoma asked in anticipation.

“You will get answers to your questions soon," the old woman said while smiling profusely. Her laugh knew no bounds. It was just as if it should just come to pass within this minute.

“Please, old one, we are somehow curious to know, as it's been a long time since we left home. We missed home, and we missed our people. I missed my Sophie, Paloma added.

“Which Sophie could this be?” Etoma asked in anticipation.

Paloma described her and her family. This made Etoma raise an alarm from where he was standing: “How can you marry my little sister?

“How long have you been here? Do you think things would remain the same? We are all growing older, day in and day out. So, don't call Sophie, little girl."Paloma added.

They began to argue, but at one point, they agreed with each other.

While arguing, the old woman was busy observing. He could not wait to respond, “Your little Sophie is going to be the princess of the land.”.

On hearing this statement, Etoma became happy, while Paloma was angry because he thought he was going to lose Sophie. Paloma became sad, but something kept giving him the best hope ever.

“Since you can see the future, why can't you check if I'm going to get married to Sophie in the future?" Paloma asked.

“I can't go beyond my limit," the old one said. It was just as if the old one knew what was going to happen but did not want to reveal the secret.

“I want to see you people in the next 10 hours," the old woman said.

In the place they are, no one has a particular place to stay. They are free to do anything and to live anywhere they like. No one is allowed to own a portion. There is excess food, and there is no sickness.

Paloma was sleeping and waking up just to keep on time. He kept listening to the woman's voice: “Come by 10." He was not ready to be late, instead wanting to get to the woman at the exact time.

“Etoma, what did you see in one's words? Is there hope of leaving this place?” Paloma asked.

“I'm just as confused as you are. I don't know what to answer or what to believe. I have been here for so long now, and even my people thought I was in another village doing so fine, Etoma said.
