It's A Mystery How I Found My Stopwatch

It was just like a mystery losing my school stopwatch which I cherish so much. I'm purely a hard-working young man who only cares for both my children and my students. I never joked with them and can do everything possible to make them happy. This incident would forever alter my perception of reality.

It began on a cool autumn when I went to my bedroom just to sleep, waiting for the next day to arrive. As I proceeded to my bed, I found out that the stopwatch which comes with the alarm I always bring home was not in the usual place I always kept it. I searched high and low and even rummaged through the nook and cranny of my room, but found nothing. The only question left with me was, “What should I tell my students and how should I explain to my kids that the stopwatch that comes with the alarm was missing?” I only use it for my kids anytime they are ready for bed and to also wake them when it is morning. I also go to work with this special stopwatch as it is the only one we use especially for practical use, even though we have other brands.

I found it difficult to explain how it vanished into thin air. This was the only stopwatch I used to carry out experiments for my students. “What should I use that would be better than this exceptional stopwatch?” This was another question that was left flowing in my mind.

Confounded by the disappearance, I tried to rack my brain just to get any possible solution or explanation but was left with an abated thought. I kept on thinking if I had dropped it somewhere else apart from the house, but left without an answer. “I brought it home and even dropped it beside my bed. I even twisted the knob just to make my children get carried away. Where did I drop it? Or did my children mistakenly take it outside?” All these thoughts kept running through my head. On the other hand, my kids are not the type that would carry something that special outside. After a deep search, I reluctantly lost hope of finding it and retired to my bed, hoping for a successful search the following morning.

When it was morning, as the morning sun was rising, I woke up with the best determination to solve the inexplicable escape of the stopwatch. I called my children to help in the search. We began the search and even searched where I had searched before and yet saw nothing looking like the stopwatch. My son said maybe the stopwatch had disappeared, which I also thought of, but then how and where, or would I say who would have made it disappear?

That day went by and weeks entered and almost throughout that month, I was yet to solve the inexplicable mystery behind the disappearance of the stopwatch. As each day passes, I do glimpse at the empty spot in the usual place I always kept, which brings some sort of disapproval and saddening look into me.

I had forgotten about it and was sitting on my couch alone one fateful weekend as my children followed their mum to the shop. I raised my head facing straight to the wine cabinet which was standing tall. Likewise, I was about to doze off when some thoughts kept coming to my mind. Not only that, but I was just thinking of the immediate practical to carry out for my students and immediately saw the unbelievable. Likewise, I could not believe my eyes. The stopwatch which we had been looking for over a month was now lying low on the wine cabinet.

How it got there was a question I could not answer. Anyway, I was able to find it and my students, as well as my children, were so happy to see it again.
