Culture And Civilization

Culture And Civilization
Sometimes I keep on wondering if we still have the old days in this modern life. Gone are those days when culture has been the talk of society.

How does culture impact the lives of people?

Growth in the mind of the youth:

In a real sense, culture has made so many youths have enough sense of humanity. They can now stand on their own instead of being dependent. They have lived the lifestyles of making their way out of poverty.

Impact of vast knowledge on our women:

Women can now showcase their talents of cooking and making good homes just as a result of culture. Food is the heart of man, and a man without a cultured woman who can dish him good and homemade food is still left in the deepest part of Modernization. Women learn how to prepare good food in their respective homes, and I'm their respective culture. Food comes from culture to culture, and the way they are prepared is indeed different from culture to culture.

Women who cannot prepare homemade food are or have been lost in the realm of Modernization. Modern women can leave their husbands to buy junk food, which is not the best. Some men prefer homemade food and when their women failed to give that to them, would end them in the hands of another woman. So, men jumping from their homes to other women may be a result of not eating homemade food at home. When the outside woman prepares such a kind of quality food for them, they would prefer to stay with such women instead of going back to their maternal homes.

Culture has brought us the idea of sewing fabrics and fashion: Cultures taught us how to wear clothes. Different tailors with their respective methods of sewing clothes which would go with your culture.

Bashir Oluwatoyin
Culture has taught us how to wear clothes decently. So many people nowadays put on clothes popularly known as low-waist. They sag their trousers to the lower part of the buttocks. This is another style that modernization has brought into our society.

*Culture has made us know the difference between right and wrong
So many people who failed to follow culture have fallen into a very deep pit that they can never come out from. We are all well cultured and cultured differently, or cultured according to our different cultures.

Is culture still celebrated in society today?

Aladdin Mustafa
Although modernization has taken over every realm of life, culture is sparingly celebrated. Some have been forgotten totally. Just yesterday, a culture popularly known as Kayo Kayo in Yoruba land was celebrated in Lagos State. It is now for the oldies as the youths have at this moment abandoned their homes following modernization.

So many Cultures have been abandoned just because of what is called civilization. There are so many cultural happenings that have found their way out just because of civilization.

Is there anything that can be done to bring back our cultural practices?

From the look of things, everything has gone out of hand, leaving civilization and modernization superseding the cultural practices. Any cultural celebration comes with a low turnout just because of civilization and modernization. Even though these two cannot be erased, then our cultural practices are supposed to stand.

That's correct, a man without a good woman is left behinds in so many areas, especially, when it comes to cooking, good advises and assistance in the family, two heads are better than one, culture has inspire great things in us, we lived by it everyday.
No matter the changes we see through modernization, culture is still there, that shows the real ground of our existence.

So many Cultures have been abandoned just because of what is called civilization. There are so many cultural happenings that have found their way out just because of civilization.

It's sad to hear that some cultural events/traditions are disappearing.

Is there anything that can be done to bring back our cultural practices?

I think one of the key things is not to forget those cultural practices, so that later generations can access that knowledge if they wish. This is why I like to read articles about people's cultural traditions. They are the record of a people, and their cultural spirit lives on digitally. I enjoyed reading your article.
