Some of the Weird Laws in India

When we hear about Laws, it always feel like something has been made to safeguard us. And that is true too, Laws are actually meant to safeguard and basically serve the public. But the problem with these Laws is that most of the government create these laws and forget about it. And thus the laws which were created long back is still exist today even though they are not really useful today.

Like these there are some of the laws which still exist on India, which were created long back but has not been refreshed till now and thus it became weird laws today.

Weird because when we hear about these laws, it feels like not applicable for today's generation. I know laws are meant for maintaining the law and order in the country and all the citizens should be abide by that law. And sometimes these laws are created and forgot about it that there are such rules still exist.

So some of the Weird Laws which still exist in India are:

Suicide is Illegal in India

It seems weird that you attempted suicide and by God grace you lived. Then the law states that its illegal to take your own life and by law then can put you in Jail.

Now usually people try to do suicide because of some problem in their life and rather than the counseling or solving that issue, the Indian law is designed to punish you for taking that extreme step. This is weird because people usually do suicide because they are fed up in their life and there should be a law so that there should be counseling for the person who are thinking of doing suicide or they have done suicide and saved rather than them going through the trial and facing criminal charges.

Flying Kites and Balloon

We usually fly kites whenever we have a festival but do you know that it's illegal to fly kites and balloon in India. Yes you have yo take permission from the authorities first if you want to indulge in flying kites and balloons.

It feel bizarre because flying kites is so traditional and as a kid we used to fly kites almost regularly, but after knowing the truth we have to be really careful when we fly it. For Drones too, we have to take permission as well as have to register for it if we want to fly that. But for drones it's ok, but the law of kites and balloons are bizarre.

No Fixed Drinking Age

Can you imagine that there is no legal drinking age in India as a whole. The drinking age is based on states where some states it is 21 whereas for some state it is 18. This is bizarre too, because a person can drink alcohol if he will come out of the state even if he is below drinking age in his own state.

Report Tresure

There is a law which states that of you find a treasure when if the value is just above Rs 10 then you have to report it to the administration. I know no one does that but it is by the law.

When the law was formed Rs 10 had a value but as of today Rs 10 doesn't hold any value and reporting for just Rs 10 seems so illogical.

Prostitution is Legal but being a Pimp is Illegal

This is the most bizarre amount all the laws. Prostitution is legal in India but if you are a pimp then they can arrest you if they found you. This is again bizarre because if they are making pimp illegal then prostitution should be illegal too or vice versa because if one is there other will be there itself.
