Sibling Rivalry Over Property is Quite Common in India
When it comes to money or property for that matter, it is very common that there will be a rivalry between the siblings. In India the property dispute is one of the very common court case where one brother has accused other one to steal property or what so ever.

Though sibling rivalry is there, we have seen the rivalry is between the father and son too. The problem is when the property is an ancestral, the sibling rivalry is much worse. We have an ancestral propert mostly a villa in my village having a 20 room. Now that property is of my gradfathers father. That means as of today the property has to be divided among 15 people. Now the problem is out of 15, 5 are not ready to sell the property as well as 10 are for selling the property.
And this is the reason, those 10 cousin brothers are not in talking terms of those 5 brothers. Not in talking terms is somewhat ok, but we have seen cases where the brother murder the other one just for the sake of taking the property on their name.
When it comes to money or property, people doesn't want to share even with their siblings. They want it fully. There was again a case of 2 brothers in my village where the father had huge property. Both the brothers first killed their father and then tried to kill each other so that they can get hold of the full property. And this is just disgusting, because you will eventually get your share of the property, why to take a claim on whole thing when you have not even bought it.
If you have bought a property and then taking a claim is fine, but when you have not purchased that property and ut is of your ancestral then that property should be equally divided. And you will have the full claim on it. The property dispute is one of the popular rivalry which happens between the siblings, others are just normal things. But there are so many criminal activities happens because of the property dispute.
The problem is everyone wants a lot of money, they do not want to work hard for that, they just want it to be served in their plate and this is the reason people want to take the simpler path. And what's best than having the full property right on the ancestral property. You will eventually get your share buy doing a crime for it doesn't make sense.

If I hadn't read it, I would not believe that people outside my country experience this form of rivalry among siblings. The fight over property and stuff... it has led to some pretty nasty stuff happening around us.
People fight and kill over just property, and it's shameful to witness. I dislike to even hear about it
Estate planning is really important as descendants tend to fight for survival. It's an asset that no one wants to lose. Really a sensitive topic especially once the original owner becomes deceased without a will in place.
