The Longing Oak and the Diligent Sparrow

A majestic oak tree that had been rooted there for many years stood in a verdant woodland. The oak tree was big and imposing, and its branches spread out widely. It was regarded as the forest's oldest and smartest tree. The oak tree, nevertheless, was also the loneliest of them all, craving for a friend and a sense of belonging.

One day, as the oak tree stood alone, a diligent sparrow landed on one of its branches. The sparrow was small but full of energy, always busy gathering twigs and building its nest. Curious about the oak tree's melancholy, the sparrow hopped closer and asked, "Mighty Oak, why do you stand here so alone? Your branches provide shade and shelter, yet you seem filled with sadness."

The oak tree sighed, its leaves rustling in the wind. "Dear Sparrow, I have witnessed generations of animals come and go, but I have never felt the warmth of a true companion. Though I provide shelter, no one ever stays to keep me company. I long for the joyful chatter and laughter that I see in other parts of the forest."

The sparrow fluttered its wings, empathizing with the oak tree's plight. "Oh, Wise Oak, I understand your desire for companionship. But have you ever ventured beyond your own branches? The forest is filled with creatures, each with their own stories and wisdom. Perhaps if you extend your reach, you will find the connection you seek."

The oak tree pondered the sparrow's words, realizing that it had become so consumed by its own solitude that it had forgotten to reach out to others. With newfound hope, the oak tree stretched its branches further, inviting animals to rest and seek shelter in its embrace. Squirrels frolicked among its branches, birds built nests, and even small insects found solace in its shade.

As time went on, the oak tree's canopy became a bustling hub of life and laughter. Animals of all kinds found companionship under its branches, and the forest echoed with the sounds of friendship. The once-lonely oak tree was now a beacon of unity and harmony, a testament to the power of reaching out and embracing others.

And so, the tale of the Longing Oak and the Diligent Sparrow spread throughout the forest, inspiring other creatures to overcome their own loneliness and build bridges of connection. The oak tree and the sparrow became revered figures, symbolizing the importance of reaching out, lending a helping branch, and nurturing the bonds that make a community strong.

This story is inspired by my conversation with my mom last night. As I was having a breakdown I received a message from my mom asking me about my problem. I only opened up with my girlfriend my she doesn't have the energy to be with me, I respect that, that's why she reached out to my mom and ask her to message me.

My mom decided to be away from us because she wants to live on her own and provide for us by getting a job. She doesn't want to stay with us because she doesn't want to feel that she is a burden.

I respect what my mom wants to do with her life, but she has been living away from us since my second year of high school. My longing for a family had just grown since then -- Hence, last night's breakdown.

Life has a funny way of reminding us of things. Today is Mother's Day and what I had last night with my mom is probably the universe's reminder for me to reach out and also for her.
