Mark 6:2-3 (KJV) And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

There is a deep truth which Bro Eli Soriano has revealed through this short video from the Members Church Of God (MCGI). The first 30 years of Jesus was just like an ordinary person. When Jesus was living and playing like a child, He had no difference from other children. When he was growing up as a youth, he was no different from other youths. Jesus' early childhood days didn't have any difference from other people existing.

The reaction of the Jews shows that there was no other understanding and realization of Jesus’ personality and occupation while he was living among them. They took him to be the son of a carpenter. They related with him as a carpenter. But Jesus had their destinies in his hand and they understood it not.

Those who were close to Jesus, like the apostles and the brethren who ministered to him, understood who Jesus was. When Jesus asked Peter what they thought he was, He said “The Messiah”. Jesus responded by saying that it was his father who revealed it to him.

Matthew 16:16-17 (KJV) And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Our proper understanding of the assignment of Jesus and his ministry is in understanding the word of God. These days, a multitude of people in the world do not still understand who Jesus Christ really is. That is why they see no need for receiving his doctrines and believing in him.
Why Peter and other disciples were able to know Jesus better was because they followed him and listened to his words. If we want to know Jesus, let us follow him in his words and obey His doctrines.
