Let’s Preserve Rather Than Vandalize. #Photofeed Contest Round 73. Cityscape Photograph

This is The International Aviation College, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. This facility belongs to the government of Nigeria. It is a training center for pilots and aviation related programs. It serves the nation in building human capacity for the aviation sector. The property was erected using government resources with the aim of training young men and women so that as they grow to serve the nation, they could be gaining employment for themselves. The property is a blessing to the country.

There are several properties like this all over the country. Many of them are dispersed in various states in the nation. They have different functions and duties. We have many infrastructures like this in the educational sector, in the health sector, in the agricultural sector and so on. Every sector of the nation's economy has its infrastructures. Every infrastructure was built and established for a specific purpose which is aimed at building the nation’s economy.

Vandalizing infrastructures is not a good habit. I have seen boys in our localities who go out at night trying to tap electricity illegally. As they attempt to do this, they damage the electrical installations. Vandalization is not good. Let us decease from it.

We have several tales of public office holders who go about selling and stealing government properties in their care. These people are not helping the growth of the nation. When we steal and loot from the government properties put under our care, we are betraying the trust of the citizenry on us.

I'm only airing out my opinion that we should not vandalize and loot government properties. We should not destroy our collective heritage, whether as a youth or as a politician. Let us build the nation together.
