MY UNFINISHED PLANS FOR THE FESTIVE HOLIDAY

It almost is another festive season. Like I put it, 'festive seaaon',' it clearly tells what the period is about. Food, drinks, expressing gratitude, showing love, catching up and generally having a merry time.

In this part of the world, Christmas is taken very serious. You can tell from the very first day in December with how the environment automatically smells sweet and homely, by the decorations, the music, market crowd/rush and how crowded cities begin to get deserted.
Even the harmattan breeze adds to the beauty with the chilliness it brings.

That period, most people return back to their family houses and/or villages to be with family. And it is same pattern for my family. Has been that way for the longest time.

In the last few years though, I had pulled back from this ritual. Whilst everyone else travels back home, I stay back in the city. What I do? Nothing really. I just wanted to merry by/with myself. Does it play off better than spending with family? Nope, nopity, no! It's appealing to me, it satisfies what I want in that time but does not replace family time. Doesn't even come close to the excitement of seeing relatives and family all together after a long year of being apart.

So for this year, I just might be spending it with family. This might mean travelling down to the village as would the rest of my relatives. This year, there's be tge cultural festival and that stuff is very lit. I don't reqlly participate, I just watch and make videos and run and laugh and spray some money if any of the participant/groups approaches me. I just want to see and hold them. The idea/plan is to enjoy the bants, have evening strolls, sing and dance together and even visit the stream. I miss how we all eat from one very large tray. I have new recipes I'd be trying for them too. Christmas for us is all simple and fun. Lively and hot! I'm excited!!

Like it always is, there'd be lots of food and drinks. That's like the Hallmark in these times. We would do some door to door food sharing too(this thing is sweet!). And also, we'd have the general family meeting. This should be very serious stuff. It actually is but mostly, ours could pass as more of catching fun and relieving the past year through each person's tale.

As a little gift, I plan on getting nice things for all of my family. It could be collective or individual. Haven't decided what these things would be yet. Of course they will be what i can afford. Nothing too expensive.
Frankly, I don't know what plans to make. I always have to do little yet it turns out great. I have some little time to think about that, so maybe, until then. Suggestions are welcome too, just in case you have any.
All I know is that the season will be exciting!

Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!

Value and spend time with family when you have the tiniest moment. Christmas affords us that opportunity better than any other time of the year.

Since youve never tried and unless you have events all lined up, you might find it uninteresting

Did you say suggestions when you already mapped out your plans? I guess you have a good plan here. Traveling down to your family and gifting your people gifts are nice way to celebrate the season...show gratitude to people..nice 👍🙂

I was not sure if it's enough. I know it's good. But woke extra ideas on wayw to spice things up would not be so bad.😀

I so much love the way weather changes during December, I can't wait for the festivity to begin.
