CHEAP iPHONE PURCHASE GONE WRONG

So on the bus today, someone brought out an iPhone 14 and was offering to sell to my friend at 80k last asking price. He said his wife was in labour and the doctor had recommended CS which he could not afford which was the reason behind his selling the phone at that exact amount.

Since he mentioned 80k, my friend started bargaining to buy it for 50k.
Iphone14 at that price is an awoof nau. Even Android version no cheap like that.
I took the phone from the guy and was checking it through.

Everything was working perfectly. The lock screen even had the seller's picture. Yet, I was not convinced.
I whispered to my cousin that the phone might have been stolen. You know, you can't tell these days. In fact, I don't think any level of distress would make anyone sell his phone for that cheap. No nau.

My friend said that even if it's stolen, he would flash it and change the casing, or better even, resell it immediately.

....and that was how my friend paid for it. Via transfer and he became an iphone14 owner. For cheap.
Despite my warning.

I was just holding the phone and looking at it in disbelief.
At some point too, I wished I had bought it instead of him.
But...Kai!
50k for iPhone? No nau!

We alighted the bus when we got to our stop and said our goodbyes to the seller who said he was rushing to the hospital to pay the fee so they can commence the delivery.
Myself and my friend then sat at this busstop to look at the phone again. He was extremely excited..

While pressing the phone, it turned off. The screen could not turn on again. We assumed the battery was down so we decided to look for a place to charge it.
Suddenly, the screen turned on. And this time, it was showing "Searching."
The search icon stayed for over a minute rotating.

Then it switched to "Tracking.. Tracking.. Tracking.."
I was the one holding the phone at that moment. With the speed of light, I gave him his phone to hold first. He refused to take it from me saying I should hold on to it a little.

I was not understanding so I shouted at him "Bros collect your phone abeg"

"Are you not holding it? Just continue until it's done tracking."
"Track who?"
"The thing it's tracking"
"Which thing? Guy hold your phone abeg!"
"Calm down na. We no know wetin e de track. Shey I am here. Hold am. Maybe e de track network"
"Hian!..let It continue tracking the network in your hand. Hold your phone first."
I shoved the phone into his pocket and began home.

Suddenly, from behind he shouted and ran past me. I did not know why but I joined him to run. While running, I asked him,
"Guy? Why are you running?"
He shouted back "the phone showed Location found"
Which location?"
"I don't know o but maybe it's our own."

I was still running side-by-side with him until I saw that he was running with the phone in his hand.
I turned silently and started running left. Left was a bush path. A supposedly dangerous zone. I did not mind.
I kept following it and running for my life.
Only for me to turn back and see my friend running behind me with the phone still in hand.
That child does not just have sense.
