Holidays in Leipzig
Hello Hivians!
I'm currently in Leipzig visiting my parents-in-law. They both had birthdays. My dad had it last week and my mum this weekend. We had a great surprise for them and we wanted to reveal it on Sunday when we went out for dinner. I was really excited and wanted to see their surprised faces. As we sat down we said it's time to open the present box. They both got a certification to become a Duke and the exact title in German is: "Herzog von Katherinenburg" and "Herzogin von Katherinenburg". It's possible to put this title into the passport if you want. They said we are crazy but they are happy with the present and we made a lot of jokes about how things now would change. After that we got our meal. I had a wild meat burger with fries. Very delicious.
Today we went out to a 300-year-old mill that worked with water. You can still see how it works in this museum and the mill is still running. The place itself was very small and I forgot the name of it.

After that we drove to "Schloss Trebsen". There was a knight fest. When you are at a medieval fest, you have to drink mead which was delicious but it showed it's effect soon, as we sat in the sun. So we got only one cup.

We also went inside the castle where we could and found Gandalf throne 🧙 and a round table. I tried to look evil on the throne. 😈
You can also get married 👰 and celebrate there. The red lighted room was perfect for this.

The witch was talking to the kid and I think I did not see the kid after that anymore. 😅
It was the first time for me seeing so close how a mill works. It was very interesting.

Funny in holland they use RED light rooms for something else 🤣🤣
You mean the special area in Amsterdam for example? I have seen it. 😁 The red on this picture here, looks extrem, but wasn't in reality. I bet it's some kind of disco lights where you can also switch colors.

Yeah, I tried to make mead last year but it did not work. I should try again. I got a recipe on the internet but the mead taste like water. Maybe wrong measurements. Do you have a good recipe?

One of the women that lives here has made some kickass mead. I'd say the amount of honey that you use is important, and for a gallon of water or tea, you'd need 2 (drier) to 3 (sweeter) pounds of honey. It should be allowed to ferment for at least a month to a month and a half, though it can go much longer.
This fellow is really into mead, and gives excellent information on how to make it (and several variations).

That's so crazy you can buy a title and add it to your passport, definitely worth it if it will get you an upgrade on the plane, if not its great for a laugh and get your friends to address you as the Duke and Duchess!!!
Probably no upgrade on the plane. It is also not an actual title, more like fun but since you could also add your artist name, you can add this title as an artist name. You can't bequeath it. You can sign documents with your title if the other knows your real name. So a lot of fun in my opinion.
