PEN ON PAPER- Drawing a dog

Hello everyone, I feel butterflies in my stomach as I make my first post in this community. I marvel at the undeniable talent filled in this community that I feel Holozing community is one of the most creative places to be in Hive.

Growing up, I've always had that passion for making artworks, using a pen or a pencil to draw pictures I find appealing. Most times I write novels with pictures I design myself. But as time passes by, the joy I feel when I draw started fading away, maybe as a result of growth and change of priorities.

But after joining Hive and then the Holozing community, and seeing beautiful artworks made by several gifted hands, I decided to try out something. Though it is just a quick sketch of about 20minutes but I believe it would motivate me to do better with time, since it's been years I made any form of artwork.

THE STEP I TOOK I DRAWING A DOG

Everybody believe dogs are very lovely animals, I can't agree less. But most times I tend to avoid them because of the ability they possess to command fear. Not withstanding, they are just lovely creatures.

Just some minutes ago, with my pen and an exercise book, I decided to make a sketch of a dog. I started with the head. I started slowly so I don't make any mistakes, although it isn't that perfect an artwork, but I put my heart into it. But I believe with time and continuous practice, I would improve.

I drew the right part of the head first which includes the nose with its cute nostril and its mouth depending on how it was facing, before I drew the left part as you could see in the images below.

Drawing with a pencil and an eraser is better for amateurs like me, where you get to erase any mistake made and do it better. But since I had none of those at hand, I decided to make do with what I have. When I see drawings made with a pen on paper I feel happy and I believe it took lots of practice and resilience on the part of the artist to reach where they are.

This was the finishing part of the drawing. It was almost completed except for the whiskers I added to make a complete drawing.

Drawing is definitely one way to express emotions, thoughts, ideas and to convey or pass messages across. Thank you for your time.
