Hello everyone,

It has been a few months since I put up a postivity quote. But I personally felt the need.

Life, both personal with my wifes illness and my workplace but mostly my workplace has really been getting to me lately.

If my perception is right or wrong or how I feel is right or wrong at my employement does not matter. How I am perceived by others, mainly management is what matters. If I want to keep my job.

Friday before close I was called into the office by my two mangers and called out on my attitude. I had a lot to say, but kept my mouth shut and agreed with them. I been thinking long and hard about the situation and desided that it was time to bring Mr. Positivity back in full force.

I had lost faith in the system, I have lost faith in the system. At least as in reference to the system of getting ahead by working hard at the place I currently work.

In my percepting upto a few weeks ago, I have been nothing but positive at work, showing up early everyday, going above and beyond everyday. I feel like I have been doing more that needed, more than other people, taking on duties. Doing what is needed in a normal work place to get ahead.

It failed. So I started to fail. I let myself slip. I let the positivity slip away. I started to go down into a black hole.

What will I do when I go back to work on Monday? I will put my smile back on. And I will do want works needs to be done for my positiion. I will not complain. I will not ask for anything. I will do my job, no more, no less.

Life lesson learned here. Some places take advantage of you.

That being said, my employeer has been there for me emotionally, when I need an hour off here and there for my wifes cancer needs. No doubt. But when it comes looking after the possiblity of getting ahead, getting a raise. Makiing me, and my fellow wokers, feel valued. They are failing.

Back to the quote. I did get lost is a sea of despair, I am coming out of it. I am hopeful and optimistic about life, just not my employement. Struggle of a lifetime, John Lewis nailed that one.

As for making noise, I have tried and I cannot find the good or necessary trouble at where I am at. Another place, another time, yes I believe in it.

It's easy to lose trust in the system but I do agree that staying positive is what we need to do. Find something that you can do and that is good enough.

Some places take advantage of you.

We assume that a good worker will automatically be rewarded with better pay and advancement, but the reality is employers will simply enjoy the greater efficiency. A smile and positive attitude and work ethic is difficult to find, if they're not careful, they're going to loose it. A different employer will be worthy of the added value, even if the wages cost higher for them.
