Vibes Mining

Let me tell you a funny story about how my morning went... I got into work about 6:30 AM like I usually do and since it is Friday I went about writing my #weeklyspins post for the #musicfolife community.

It is something I started doing during the Covid crisis to share some of the music that I was enjoying each week (originally #whoareyoulisteningto). I like learning about new bands, so I was hoping it would catch on and bring me a some new stuff to add to my Spotify playlist.

Unfortunately, it really hasn't, but I still plan on continuing it. Anyway that is a bit of a tangent.

After I published that post, I went about getting caught up on the new posts from the past sixteen hours or so from the time I left work until coming back in this morning.

One of the first posts I read was this one by @spinvest. I will give you a second to go read it.

How cool is that? The community that I post to once a week is getting their own token and they are going to be growing quite a bit thanks to the support from SPInvest!

I really wanted to take the opportunity to get in early and buy some miners so I took the 6 HDB that I had and moved it over to Hive-Engine. I then sold a bit of my SPORTS token and DEC to get myself a whopping 32 Vibes Miners at 1.5 Hive a piece.

That wasn't enough though, I wanted MORE!

Thus my saga/journey/quest commenced.

I remembered I had some of that crappy TRON coin so I moved a little bit over to Bittrex. Since HIVE deposits/withdraws are disabled on Bittrex (shocker!), I needed to exchange my TRON for BTC and then BTC to STEEM so I could send it over to BeeSwap to convert it to Hive.

One problem, I only moved over about $10 with of TRON and Bittrex doesn't let you buy into that small amount of BTC. Crap!

Okay, so I sent the TRON back and started looking at some of my other wallets. Finally I settled on EOS. I moved $50 in EOS over to Bittrex and exchanged it for BTC. I then used that BTC to buy STEEM and was able to end up with about 127 STEEM.

I moved that STEEM to my old account that is almost powered down and then did a BeeSwap over to Hive. I was now sitting on about 222 Hive. Awesome! I sent that 222 Hive over to LeoDex to buy some more Vibes Miners.

Second problem (or really third if you count running out of Hive in the first place), the price of the miners had jumped up to 3.0 Hive per miner! I made the buy anyway and ended up with about 78 more miners to give me a grand total of 110.

I know I shouldn't be, but I am actually pretty disappointed by that number. I am feeling a bit of buyers remorse now that I spend all that Hive to get a measly 110 miners. I am sure there are bigger accounts out there that are buying them by the hundreds or thousands.

I have a feeling my rewards from the miners will be laughable at best. That seems to be the case when I get excited about something. The ROI is never worth what I put into it.

Hopefully I am wrong. I love the community, so I hope they really do well, but worst case I sell the miners down the road for at least some profit.

Really I blame Bittrex for all of this. It can be such a pain to work with sometimes, but it is really the best option for a lot of us in the states.

I really need to start keeping some liquid Hive in my account for times like this. Were you able to get any Vibes Miners? I hope your experience was less stressful than mine!

the worst thing about cryptos is when you have to move from many exchanges to others, that's why I only have Cryptos listed on binance, I'm sure the roi you'll have will exceed those expectations!!

I hope that is the case. I still am mad at Binance for what they did during the whole STEEM thing. I do miss them sometimes though. Not being able to use them in the US anymore kind of sucks.

I was tired last night so I didn't buy any miners then when I saw the prices this morning, I decided to just wait it out. It always sucks to be late to the trade and you end up having to buy in at a higher price.

I wish I had realized they were out on the market last night. I was probably sleeping though!

Well funny story but I guess am up a few bucks today. I was just going round HIVE engine when I noticed the weird token laying there, before this I knew nothing about the community but had always loved music so I was triggered to learn more, so I quickly hopped to their front end and noticed the official announcement post for the token lunch, I flew like a baby chick running from the hawks and bought some Hive from Binance, I was planing to purchase some Hive Engine tokens so this was a big chance, I noticed the initial price of 1.5 Hive per token and plus the very limited supply was something else to consider, so without wasting much time, i bought about 11 VIBEM, That was about $5 and it was definitely too small, so I locked in 70 more Hive to get 50 more and all together it cost me just $20. I went offline only to come back and see it blowing up, right now am up 28$ I think, and the price has gone up 100% pretty crazy.

I sure hope this project goes on just perfect :)

I hope so too. Congrats on your win! We have to take them when we can. I hope that this is one of those things that pays off for me. Like you said, the community is strong and everyone loves music, so I honestly think it is going to be hard for it to fail.

Blimey that does sound stressful. I thought about buying some miners myself when I read the post but then realised that I wouldn't be able to buy enough to make it worth it. There are so many projects popping up and I'm tempted by so I'm taking the time to take a step back to get clear about my long-term objectives and act accordingly. I'm in a process of consolidation as I'm spread thinly over too many tokens already. The good thing is I am able to keep telling myself "not to worry, there will be another great project along soon" and, so far, it seems to be true. 😊

Yeah, I am spread pretty thin too so I totally understand. I have a feeling I didn't get enough in to put myself at a very good ROI point, but I guess time will tell. I like the Musicforlife community and I think they have a lot of potential to grow very large. There are definitely the musicians and music lovers on the blockchain to support it.

Very true. There are just so many great projects to choose from 😁

I have the same problem, so many projects to be a part of. That's why I like SPI, they do it for me and I can just stick to a few others!

Me too. Problem is I'm not good as just sticking to a few others. 😂

I really miss the liquid swap.hive. I am able to buy 135 and was converting HBD to Hive to buy more(15 more to make it 150) , when the conversion happened , miner price jumped.

Yeah, I thought I had more time but that jump just came out of nowhere! Congrats on the ones you did get. Hopefully they give us a good ROI!

Now jumped to 4.5, I guess Brofund mentioned them in their post and all get exploded.

That doesn't surprise me at all! I'd love to see them get up into the 7 range or something crazy like that.

I just read the post about the @musicforlife tribe starting up and how they were offering miners, so I went over to hive engine to buy a few and they were already at 3 hive per vibesm...
I haven't been keeping very much liquid hive in my account, I've been mostly powering it up trying to work my way up to 10K HP. I'm at a bit over 8.5K right now. So, I didn't have much hive available to put into vibesm, I got 5 of them. Better than nothing, right?

For sure! You shouldn't feel bad about that. I am with you, so hard to hold liquid Hive because I keep wanting to power it up.

I feel you man, but you have some at least and hopefully that will be enough to get you started. I've got about the same amount and now I know about the tag, will probably use that as well when I share my music as a way to get more VIBES tokens too. Annoyingly my music PC is in for repair so may have to wait a while!

Happy mining!
