Stanley was pretty big around here too. I still have a fair number of Stanley tools in my toolbox. I think I have some screwdrivers and a utility knife for sure. I had heard one time that most workplace accidents happen because of Stanley knives.

I was wondering if they were as well known in the US as here. It was a household name owing to those knives. Everyone had one when I was younger in their toolbox.
Honestly, I think a lot of people still do. Some companies have improved on the design a bit, but the gray "box cutter" is still tried and true.
Yes, that's what I remember as a kid.., dark gray, I might still have one in my current barely used toolbox.
I just used mine the other day. I keep it on my workbench in the garage to cut things apart.
