Mr. and Mrs. Jones had been married for two years. She had no child and never wanted one because her intention of marrying Mr. Jones was solely for his wealth. She had no love for her husband; marrying Jones was a planned deal between her and her lazy lover boy, David. David and Jane had a conversation a week before her wedding, during her traditional marriage to Jones.
Jane: "Sweet, I wish you had money. What will I be doing with that money, miss the road, Jones?"
David: "You know I've hustled too much. I think it's not my destiny to be rich, and it seems you are my destiny helper. Please don't abandon me now that I need you most, for you are the love of my life."
Jane: "Hope you will not deny me after this game of marrying Mr. Jones?"
David: "Never, my heart. You are the sugar in my tea, the love of my breath. I have no life without you. I must spend the rest of my life with you."
Jane: "Swear with your life that we are in this game together."
David: "I swear with my life and family. I cannot leave you. Please don't allow him to finish my things for me."
Jane: "That should not bother you. Jones is a tenant. You will always remain the landlord." They both laugh, "hahaha, Jones, you are a big fool."
Mr. Jones loved Jane so much and showered her with all the love and care, thinking she loved him too until Joy, Jane's best friend, told Mr. Jones everything about David.
Joy: "Your so-called wife has a boyfriend named Mr. David. He has been her lover since their secondary school days."
Jones: "That was then. We all have past relationships."
Joy: "If it's the past, I wouldn't be here. He is the reason Jane is demanding much money from you. Wake up; your wife is cheating on you. She saved his number with 'Favour.'"
A week later, as usual, Jane asked Mr. Jones for money with many lies just to get money from her husband and give it to her boyfriend.
There's always a saying, "Every day for the thief, but one day is for the owner." Jane's cup got full, and it's done for her, as her best friend has already told her husband about Jane's affair with David. Her husband is now trying to find out the whole truth by opening an account with David's name and exchanging the account details with out James' knowledge.
Jane saved David's number in her contacts with 'Favour,' so when David sent an SMS for the first time asking Jane to send N150,000 to his account, she called him to say she didn't have such an amount and decided to play the usual game. As her husband returned from work, she lied to him that her cousin brother was sick and needed N200,000 for treatment N150,000 for David and N50,000 for her hustling.
Unlike Jones, he gave her the money without asking questions. She was excited and immediately sent a message to David that she had gotten the money. David replied, "Honey, please send it to my new account number." She immediately sent the money, thinking it was her lover boy, but got worried after three hours when she did not receive the usual gratitude from her lover boy with "7 nwam my angelic love you are the best, come and have real fun."
She called several times, and no response. She became angry and started doubting if she actually sent the money to her beloved sweet. The husband noticed her mood and asked, "Angel, are you okay?"
Jane: "Yes, but I think I have a little fever."
At 8 pm, she went outside the gate to contact David. Luckily, he picked up, and guess what—her husband's voice. She was shocked and immediately cut the call, saying, "I thought I dialed David's number." Then the husband called back and said, "Don't bother coming back; the gate is locked, and the N50,000 with you is enough for you to start a new life with your beloved David."
Jane: "Please, honey, forgive me. I will not do it again. It's the handiwork of the devil."
