At the time of Leo launching a few years back I invested pretty heavily into it. Buying up LEOMM miners and also just taking part in the ecosystem and helping in many ways.

Since then I've worked with the team a bit as an ambassador for a while but not I kind of do my own thing again investing my time and resources more into how I want.

From that point I've actully escalated everything at a much more rapid pace and today I want to go over with you all the things going on with InLeo and how it could look in another year or two down the line.

LeoAds

One of the biggest things that I've been excited for was the promise of leoAds. In which ad revenue would be given back to the active community and "investors" who hold the Leo token.

This system will eventually expand to in house ad buying systems. Some things that come to mind would be the ability to buy ad space to have your thread show inline with other threads based on impressions or time.

Another could be pushing your hash tag for a period of time as promoted or your profile page on the right hand side as promoted.

All of these little promotion features add up into revenue and value being generated by the web3 application and they take this from successful web2 businesses.

For whatever reason many people in web3 feel like ads have no place. But then wonder why their projects bleed out and die. The reason web2 applications are so successful is because of ads. It's a way to generate revenue for the company to be able to pay expenses and generate some form of profits. This makes perfect sense that it should be implemented into web3 to create value and I firmly believe people that are so against ads need to get over themselves and understand they do have a place and always have had a place in EVERY aspect of our lives, TV, road billboards, news papers, magazines and so forth. It's not new and it's not rocket science but it's proven to be effective on every level.

Threads

InLeo also offers up a unique threads system which is like X or Facebooks threads (which btw we had the name first facebook so buzz off! lol) Threads is a great way to build activity but it's also hard to get off the ground. You need a good algo but you also need good content. For the most part right now I see some pretty piss poor content and what I would consider spam with just a wall of 20 minutes of news articles. To me that's not really the way to grow but we all have our own opinions on the matter and not everyone will agree.

What I do know is these things will be learned and changed over time to figure out what works and grow the ecosystem. But that's not all Leo is now getting back into focusing in on articles again which to me is a huge plus! There's massive potential for SEO ranking to drive traffic every day that then turns into new users over time.

Earning

InLeo also recently revamped a earning system. Now offering up to 22% APR on your hive power.

By delegating hive power to leo.voter by default you'll get around13% APR in the form of liquid LEO. But you can up this by 7% more by locking in your Leo you earn as powered up leo. This will get you at current a 20% APR but your leo earned will be powered up instantly and locked for up to 13 weeks (each week a percent of your power down will be turned into liquid much like Hive currently does)

The extra 2% APR on top of that comes from being a paid premium member of InLeo that costs 10HBD per month and comes with a host of extra bonus features.

DeFi

My hopes are Leo soon returns back to DeFi and starts to integrate at least CubDefi directly into the LEO UI itself. Offering up things like swap features right no the UI for Leo, Hive and HBD. I have a feeling it would get used a lot more and result in some fees being collected that would start to improve the value of Cub again. However the longer this continues to not take place and the longer the emissions there remain crazy high the more the token will become devalued over time. Let's hope this is the next priority of the team.
