Did I totally forgive her?

You know sometimes I do have random thought on how forgiveness work and eventually it baffles me a lot. When I have these thought sometimes I try to understand if some people are really worth total forgiveness and this makes me always remember a situation I was few years back when I worked as a Loan Collection Officer in an organization. I wouldn’t call it a bad Friday but I’ll label it as BLACK FRIDAY.

I woke up that Friday with an unexpected migraine. I call it ‘unexpected’ because I was totally fine the night before. Well I managed to get up from bed as early as possible, ate a little food, and took some pills to get rid of the headache then i got set for work. It was going on well when I got to work, you know to start my daily routines of calling customers and asking them to pay back their loans until when I decided to start that day job. The first customer I encountered is what we call ‘they sent her from my village’.

When I called her to request for the payment of her loan, the first thing that came out from her mouth were insults and curses of all kinds. That didn’t fazed me because I am used to different sort of behavior from all types of customer. So as my job I tried to persuade her not to be angry and all of that. I did all I could just for her to make her payment, then she accepted that she was going to make the payment. She then said she couldn’t access the loan app right now that I should send the account number on her dashboard. I did that with immediate effect so as to continue to my day with other customers.

Just as I was about to make the next call, her messaged popped up on whatsapp saying she has made the payment, so immediately I went to check her dashboard to confirm her payment. But unfortunately her payment wasn’t yet confirmed. So I asked her to wait for few moments to wait and also she should send the receipt for the payment she made only for me to see that she made an half payment into another loan app account which she borrowed from. Then suddenly she started sending me messages and raining curses on me that she had been deducted thrice well specifically that I deducted her money three times. I was confused and exhausted already.

I asked for the deduction proof then I saw it wasn’t from my company but another company. I tried to explain to her that it was from another company but she didn’t bother to listen. She kept on calling and texting me that she was going to sue me and all. When I saw it was getting too much, I reported the case to a supervisor. Only for me to know that she was already at the customer care service center which was not far from us causing a very big issue. I was asked to report to the situation and immediately I got there, I was given a hot slap by the policemen that escorted her.

Long story short, the police men asked me to explain myself and I did. This went on for like couple of hours before we could make her understand the deduction was from another loan company not ours. If I could recall, it was more than 5 hours. Eventually I was asked to go home due to the stress of the day and asked to resume the following week. I left work and went home that day thinking about how she spoilt my day and all.

Then the following day, I received a mail from my company, on it was my lay off letter telling me not to return. Immediately I saw this, I cried because it happened out of the blues. The crying continued for days until I got over it. But sometimes whenever I think about it, I feel angry and have the feeling if I have totally forgiven her.
