Turning Passion into Paycheck: My Journey from Computer Fear to Computer Repair

avatar
(Edited)

Most of us have to do something to earn money, survive, and fully our basic needs. Most of us do jobs that are not even related to our area of interest. I have seen many people who used to do work from their childhood days by the time they are an elder they did get perfect to their work. And there are many who study for almost half of their life at the end they do a 9 to 5 job. I do feel about that but unfortunately, I am one of them.

I am sure we all do have a hobby and many of us are earning a good income from our hobbies too. Isn't that would be great if we all didn't get a job related to our hobbies but that can happen right? But we can make our hobby into earning don't you think is it possible.

I used to be afraid of computers a lot and till I join my college thanks to one of my friends who did help me a lot to clear my doubts. I still do contact him whenever I did stuck with some problem related to computers he is really good at that. After joining my college my interest in computers increased more. Before my college I used to be afraid of computers, yes I did have won computer at my house but still, I didn't get involved in it that much. I used to afraid of my father because if something goes wrong then I would be the one who is responsible for all the things

I did learn how few things like installing windows, installing new hardware, installing new software, and a few more things. Now things I change a lot now everyone can check out YouTube about anything literally anything. But at that time the internet was not that much popular not everyone had access to it the internet use to be costly at that time. In the beginning, it was a bit hard for me because I didn't have any computer background but slowly I did get used to it. And after a while doing the same thing again and again is like peace of cake for me.

I still I was College when one of my own people asked me to fix their PC he used to live around 2 km from my house. They picked Me up from my house and I did check their PC and found out what was wrong with their system.. their sound Card was not working so I did part 1 from the market from my brother's shop he gave me a discount on that. The next day I installed the sound card in their system and it work I did get paid for that not that much but still it was enough for me at that time.

Many of my friends do ask me if they need any help with their computer things most of the time my tips did help today but if that didn't work I suggested visiting XX person 🙃. I don't want more about repairing things but unfortunately, I am not interested to buy equipment for that and didn't get enough time to learn your things these days but I am gonna learn about it. Have you times I did help my father in his office related to computer things. If your time my father did pay me a good amount for that too of course he also did get paid for that.

After finishing college I did and decent time out of money by typing content, installing windows, and repairing computers. Now I didn't get enough time to do anything for you my friend used to leave their CPU and old machine at my place and expect me to fix it. Sometimes I did get lucky and sometimes I don't. One of my friends give me his CPU and last month hide it sel off u old CPU to kabaddi wala. I have kept the CPU fan and RAM of that old CPU Mukesh it can be used in the future let's see if it is gonna useful for me or not.

see you in the next post, till then keep learning and keep exploring...

Well, this story from computer fear to repair is an interesting one.

It is a real issue of desi families that we can't sit regularly on computer for 3,4 hours because of our parents fear.

Also it was a great initiative that you started earning on your own after your college.

Thanks for your kind words and appreciation, only angry with you it is really hard to convince my father to work for more than 3 to 4 hours. That time we don't even have that must think to do in computer I do I used to play a very popular game at that time that was vice City , taken and IGI.

Now I didn't get enough time to do that kind of work few of my friend's still do visit me in weekends to fix there systems which I do for free of course now 😅

Wow... This is what they call facing your fears!! From being scared of it to being able to tear it apart and work on it. This is great! For me, the only thing I know about computers is how to operate them. Anything like repairs is out of my hands😂
You're doing well!

Can relate to the fear of computers xd. I used to skip IT classs because of this when I was in highschool xd. College definitely was a turning point for me in terms of technical knowledge. I also learnt about installing windows and other goodies in college with the help of my roommate who is an avid gamer. Never got around learning about the hardware part though. That area is probably suited to desktop users since you can pull out a lot of things from there compared to laptop. Glad that you pc skills contributed for your passive income back then :)

Hehe. Then you are a computer mechanic. I think I need to take a flat beside you so that I can fix my computer issues within a short time and I am sure you would not charge me for fixing it🤣🤣. If you charge then I will settle it with a cup of tea/coffee 😅.

Not a professional mechanic you can say but I do fix a few things. I will fix your PC for free if I will able to do that 😬
