What is going on in the Hive World?

How would you like to be able to go out to dinner and when the check came, you take out your smartphone and send the total amount to the merchant's account in Hive and pay the check with HBD (Hive Backed Dollars)?

This may seem like fantasy and wishful thinking to most, but to our friends in Sucre, Venezuela it is a reality.

I have just finished listening to the Cryptomaniacs replay from yesterday, May 2, 2023.

The show is hosted by @jongolson and @taskmaster4450, and this week they had two special guests, @edmundochauran and @jonsnow1983.

Edmundo heads up the HiveSucre movement, and they have transformed their small village in Sucre into a Hive Village.

There are currently sixty plus businesses in the town that accept HBD to pay for goods and services.

Just last week, they saw the first B2B transaction (business to business)

The village has a population of around 4000-5000 people.

We are told that the Hive name can be seen everywhere in the village, be it on garments and swag to signs in shop windows saying they accept HBD.

Another factor to consider is that Venezuela has a minimum wage of approximately $3.00 monthly. On average most people in Sucre make $7-$10 a month.

Having an opportunity like Hive has a major impact on the lives of those in Sucre.

Hive has been a significant game-changer.

Hello dear friend, what a pleasure to read this post of Hivesucre, and the mention you make in it towards me.

This is a team work which is paying off, the whole community united and worked has been the key to this success.

There are many things we have been doing from Hivesucre, to adopt crypto and show the world that HBD has a huge potential at an economic level.

We still have a long way to go, but we are moving forward as we can.

One thing the population in the municipality sucre is 250,000 inhabitants, in the interview we had that error due to communication failures hahahaha, sorry it's my fault totally.

But sucre is Hive territory and all this is thanks to each and every one of you dear friends.

That's shocking! I thought that was per day. If the UN's threshold for extreme poverty is $57 per month, I don't know how to describe such a situation. I think that's one of the reasons why HIVE is attractive for Hivers in Venezuela.

It warms my heart whenever I see a community thrives because of HIVE.
