Even the trees need a haircut.

I have four Bradford Pear Trees lining my driveway.

They are full of white blossoms in the spring, and then the leaves come out quickly.
It is one of the first of our trees to leaf out.

The Bradford pear is native to Asia.
Some consider them a perfect road or drive liner since they bloom so early.

They do produce fruit; the pears are about the size of 00 buckshot
and the birds love them.
The birds also frequent the trees for nesting since the leaves are thick.

They do grow very quickly, thus the reason for pruning them
I have mine pruned every 4-5 years.

Despite being a pear tree, they are a very soft wood.
If you do not prune them back every so often, then you stand a chance of losing them during storms.

So every few years, we have our tree guy come out and cut them back.
