A Prank played On Me That I Will Never Forget

I have always believe or have the mindset that I can never get pranked by people especially with this era that pranks is being played on people unknowingly. I do brag about it mostly at work that I can never get pranked not knowing fully well that my colleagues at work are cooking something hot for me lol.

Every year I do celebrate my birthday in a little way where I will just invite few people especially my colleagues at work to come celebrate my birthday at my place. I really don't have much to spend in celebrating my birthdays, so I plan with a little budget to spend less on things that I feel capable to buy lol.

Last month which happens to be the month of my birthday will certainly be a month that I will never forget with what happened to me. As always I told my colleagues at work that I will be celebrating my birthday at my place and I will like to invite them to come.

They suggested that they want to surprise me by choosing another location and I shouldn't bother spending on things that we will eat and drink. The location of the place was a bar and lounge and to be sincere things there were very costly there and since I wasn't the one paying I didn't bother much.

Things that I was ordered on my birthday were stuffs that I wouldn't try to buy because of the amount and my financial capability. They ordered barbeque fish, peppersoup, Hennessy, sharwama, and so much delicacy to enjoy😜.

Then the unexpected scene happened where my boss came around, I was surprised because I never invited him to come, so I was wondering how he came to know the location of my birthday. He came with a frowning face and two men dressed in police uniforms to come and arrest me lol what is my offence?

My boss said so "I have the guts to use company money to celebrate my birthday", at that point I was confused because I wasn't the treasurer of the company neither am I the accountant to have access to company's account, so why the accused statement and arrest.

I never said this out but it was all running through my head that what trouble have I gotten myself into that at first I wasn't comfortable with this idea of celebrating my birthday in that place. I pleaded and pleaded but my boss fell to deaf ears and said I will rot in jail.

To even make the matter worst, I tried to explain to my boss that it was my colleagues who insisted on celebrating the birthday for me but their response shocked me. They said I shouldn't implicate them that were suspecting me to bring them to this expensive place to celebrate my birthday and that I gotten what I deserve.

This happened in the presence of everyone who was at that bar that day which really made me cry heavily because I was confused and embarrassed with no pity. My boss told the police officers to take me to the station and that they should drag me to the car. At that moment I was crying seriously before they told me it was a prank.

I was still surprise that it was a prank because my boss was involve and it was then I knew all the things we bought that day was ordered by my boss so he owns the bills. My colleagues said that they just want to let me know that I can be pranked unknowingly, so I shouldn't brag about it and that was how I learnt my lesson lol with a sweet and bitter experience.
