Two jobs are better than one

Well, the good news is that I'll be working two jobs for a while, so that means more money. The bad news is that I'll be working two jobs for a while, so that means, less free time.

Based on the schedule available, I won't be having actual days off. However, I'll have extended periods during certain days where I won't have to work.

I honestly didn't think I'd be granted the request for fewer hours and I had already started fantasizing about a low physical stress life where I'd only be doing the customer service job. However, to my greatest and pleasant surprise, my request was not only approved but also structured in the best possible way.

So, starting from next week, I'll only go to the warehouse three times a week. It was five days a week before, so this works for me. On top of that, the days of work are spread out quite nicely, as I'll be going only on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The warehouse shift starts by 10pm, so I'll have to ensure that my late shifts at the customer service role doesn't interfere. It will be an arduous task but one worth doing.

The original plan was to eventually completely move away from doing night shifts. However, circumstances got in the way and so, I'll continue doing the shifts for the time being.

I am still on probation period at the customer service job, so I'll only be getting rigid 30 hours a week. That's really not enough money, so I'll need backup from the warehouse job for a while.

My probation/training period for the customer service job will last around three months. So, that's the time frame I expect to continue doing the warehouse job.

Having more recovery time between two warehouse shifts and getting that night sleep in between will make a world of difference. I'll be going for each shift with less back pain and more enthusiasm to work.

The best part about the customer service job is the flexibility of the shifts. They'll allow me to do a bit more with my time and also give me time to refresh before I go for the night shifts on the designated days.

So, yeah, so far so good. Next couple of weeks will be hectic and I wouldn't want it any other way.
