Speed kills

Based on my calculations, it will take upwards of one year to actually settle in this country. On top of bills that needs to be paid, I also have to deal with a truck load of debt and then also worry about post study visa payments in the near future.

I feel like this first year is just going to be written off. There's not a lot that we can actually do beyond what we're doing now, so we will take it one day at a time.

We got into this country with a negative account balance and it will take quite the effort to get ourselves into the positive zone. The good thing is that we have a couple of months to get back into the Green zone and we intend to maximize the time.

Earlier today, my wife mentioned that her sneakers are four months old. I vividly recall buying them at Abuja. It means that we haven't been here for that long.

I've been under a lot of internal and external pressure. The external pressure is beyond my control and all I can do is ensure I handle issues as they come. However, the internal pressure from self-imposed targets need to be contained.

The fact is that we have only been here for four months and that's hardly enough time to get anywhere. In this period, I have done a lot of calculations and permutations that exceed the period.

It feels like life is moving too fast and I'm the driver speeding it up. I need to hit the brakes, appreciate the journey and drive safely to our destination. Speed kills.
