Sleep finally came with opportunities

Just as I expected, the inevitable sleep that my body has been missing for a couple of days finally came around. Safe to say, it was a sweet feeling that I totally took advantage of.

My new job that I started on Monday is also at a warehouse but this one has better terms than the previous two and also requires less strain on my back. In this role, I'll be driving a LOLOP around the warehouse and picking packages and sending them to dispatch.

This first week is less demanding, as it involves being trained to actually use the LOLOP. It's very easy to use,so it took me all of twenty minutes to figure it out.

Company policy requires that we undergo the training for at least 5 days and that's what we've been doing. So, I spent most of the last two days just driving around the warehouse and familiarizing myself with the layout, traffic rules and whatnot.

I'm not going to lie, I am really considering holding on to this role for a while. Other than the fact that I like the job, I also see a future where I could find myself in their engineering department or explore other opportunities with improved income.

At this point in time, I would need something stable that offers regular shifts and invariably, regular cash. This is yet another reason why I am seriously considering sticking with this job while I figure out the next step.

Steps

Speaking of the next step, sometimes I wonder what that actually means because it really does feel like I'm swimming in a sea of opportunities. The opportunities and options seem to be boundless, so one has to decide what they want to do and stick with a strategy.

At the time of writing, I've been applying for jobs in customer service and copywriting. Earlier today, one of the roles I applied for liked my entry for the second round of interviews and is interested in moving me up to the next stage.

Here's the thing though, I would like a writing job but am I sure this is what I really want to do, right now? To make my life easier, I will simply follow the money, since, right now, either way offers emotional satisfaction.

The copywriting job promises a more lucrative salary package in their advert but I need to be sure that it is full time employment that will offer me the hours and fulfilment that I already have from the warehouse job. So, I'll be asking all these questions during my interview.

I'll also be exploring the possibility of actually doing both jobs at the same time. If the writing job is remote, then I'm fine but otherwise, it will have to be one or the other. Time will tell.

It is good you are seeing opportunities in your new job not just your main paid role. Wish you reach your dream level
