Happily sad

I'm on my way to night shift and it just dawned on me how much life has changed. From living like I'm on holiday to doing all nighters at a warehouse and all the accompanied back pain.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about life, I am simply acknowledging how different it is. If given the chance to redo it, I wouldn't change a thing.

I'm grateful for where we are and that we're moving at the pace that we're moving in. We're both functioning members of the society that create value for ourselves and where we work and that's all that matters.

For me, the most important thing is getting paid but I also want to feel valued. Even though there are "easier" jobs that I could be doing, I'm fine with where life has gotten us and I'm focused on getting a better deal from life.

A lot of firsts

Moving to the UK, we've had to deal with a lot of firsts in our lives. We've both had to adjust to sleeping without the other at night and I'll tell you this, no matter how many times it happens, there's no adjusting to it.

The best you can do is make the best out of the situation and that's all we're doing. We're chasing a better life and making the needed sacrifices to get there or at least that's what we hope we're doing.

There are day shifts available at the warehouse but I'd prefer to use my day time to chase after job opportunities in copywriting and digital marketing. So, we'll both be doing night shifts until something that's in our alley comes along.
