Postage stamps - Giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) - series 100th anniversary of the Moscow Zoo - USSR 1964 - Michel 2915 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

During the Soviet era, much attention was paid to the employment of children and youth.

Great efforts were made to help young people develop their talents and hobbies.

In those days, modeling clubs, sports clubs, hobby clubs, were packed with people, like the metropolitan subway at rush hour.

I remember with a laugh, as a child, we had a very developed natural exchange - you give me a candy wrapper from gum, I will give you a postage stamp, or a calendar.

Coins, postage stamps, calendars and postcards were probably the most popular collectibles at the time.

Then, we paid little attention to the cost of these rarities, we were more interested in the images on them.

I remember how I changed, a nondescript postage stamp of one of the colonies of the united kingdom for a block of bright stamps, on which all kinds of roosters were depicted. I was ten years old.

The birds were beautiful, but that stamp was £ 120, a rare stamp with a watermark.

With age comes understanding of the mistakes of the past lol.

Today, I cherish the remains of my collection of postage stamps and want to continue the story that I started yesterday.

The second postage stamp from the series dedicated to the centenary of the Moscow zoo shows us a giant panda.

Interestingly, in those days, about the pandas, we knew nothing, or knew very little.

They started talking about pandas in the late nineties, when cartoons about pandas and pandas appeared on brands.

We can say that, for the Soviet Union, it was a very rare image, or a rare case when we could see what a panda looks like.

Date of issue - June 18, 1964.

At that time, for the face value of this postage stamp, you could make a phone call at a telephone box, or drink two glasses of soda, or buy two boxes of matches.

My postage stamp series will be like collecting when. you are missing some item for a complete set and you are looking for it.

This is an exciting activity.

What does this have to do with this series of postage stamps? Direct.

The fact is that the circulation of stamps in denominations of 1 kopeck and 2 kopecks is 5,000,000, but in this series there are stamps with a circulation of 4,000,000 and 3,000,000.

It turns out that the maximum number of series of seven stamps is 3,000,000.

Someone looking for your postage stamp lol. Someone in this series may have only two postage stamps that are featured in this post.

If you think postage stamps are child's play, you are wrong.

Postage stamps, like banknotes, are printed in the mint, have a face value, and counterfeiting of postage stamps is punishable by law, just like counterfeiting banknotes.

A postage stamp is a payment unit with its own denomination and, over time, it never gets cheaper.

My last post was about the brand, which, according to the catalogs, precedes the panda.

Now, in our series, there are already two postage stamps.

To be continued.

I edited a photo in the program PhotoDirector, which I also installed on my smartphone.

For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.
