My 2023 Hive Stats and a small recap

Today is the last date of the year. This year again has brought me several opportunities. I wanted to do a small recap and think about some of the good events that happened during the last year and share my thoughts. I did this recap article last year and a year before that too. I would like to keep this article too in the same format. Links to my previous year's articles are as follows. It was very good for me to read the previous articles and see how I'm progressing.

Overall the market is looking very good right now but in the last year the market was just stable and it did not do any super movements. Some instances helped do some swing trades but overall the market was just stable. The good thing about Hive is that it is more than just a blogging platform. There are several opportunities on Hive where people can use this as a platform to build their project and grow along with the project. Many gaming projects and DeFi projects are active on Hive. Gaming is the biggest scope we have on Hive and many people are planning to have their gaming projects onboarded on Hive.

I got the opportunity to work on a few gaming projects. Currently, I'm actively working on the development side of WOO and Muterra. I'm one of the lead developers for WOO. I would like to take this opportunity to thank @bookerman for this opportunity. I will continue to contribute to this project in the coming year too. The next project is Muterra. In 2023 we released a new game called Mole Miner and it is currently actively being played by the users. The main game development was delayed due to some challenges we had but now we are getting on track with that and development is happening very fast. There will soon be some new updates on the progress of the game. We are expecting 2024 to be the greatest year for both projects.

As mentioned above, the two projects are currently my biggest focus, and apart from that I have also been working on a couple of more gaming projects I have an NDA with them so I cannot disclose what those games are or talk about them until they are released. In addition to these two, I've also been working on Dreamr. @ecoinstant is waiting to hear from me and it should be live and fully functional very soon.

Account growth

I'm very glad and happy to share that I'm very close to accomplishing my goal of 100k Hive power. If I take both of my accounts into consideration, I can probably say that I have already accomplished my goal of reaching 100k Hive power. But with the next two power-ups, I should reach 100k on this account itself. The reason why I'm very happy about this is because, in the last year, I was able to double my Hive power literally. I had 50k Hive power before the end of last year and now it has doubled. Consistency, Persistence, and Determination have always been my mantra here. Thanks to all the supporters and to everyone who had been my motivation. I'm also very happy that many people take me as their motivation.

I still have not planned what should be my next goals for the new year. I'm planning to focus a little more on my real-world needs. I will have these thoughts saved up for some other article maybe. But for now, I don't have any plans for 2024 as of now. I have to think about my next goals.

My 2023 Hive Stats

It was always my dream to create a proper tool to check the stats but it is a shame that I couldn't spend time doing that. At least I have this site handy that gives me some important stats every year. I noticed that this site was not functional for a very long time. Now I have deployed it again and included a provision to check 2023 stats. I'm going to be checking my stats from this site.

Author rewards

Author rewards are an important earning on Hive. People write articles, get upvotes, and earn Hive and HBD from their articles. This has been the core functionality of the blockchain. The reward comes from the reward pool and people who have a decent amount of Hive power have the facility to take the reward from the reward pool and give it to the authors in the form of votes. I think my author rewards were pretty decent last year. I'm glad that I was able to write at least one article per day.

Curation rewards

More than the author rewards, I think that this is where the actual growth should happen. Based on the votes we cast from the account the curation rewards are calculated and based on the growth of HP, the rewards should also increase. Compared to the last two years my curation rewards have increased this year and I'm glad that this would end up fruitful when the price of Hive improves. Doing a lot of power-ups this month has contributed to the growth in Curation rewards.

Total Posts

I have also tried to keep up the consistency this year by writing at least one post per day. No matter what happens, I spend some time writing a post and push a post every single day. Last year I reported that I missed writing one day but this year I was very cautious and I was able to write every single day. Technically I should be getting a badge tomorrow for writing every single day of the year on Hivebuzz. Let's see.

Total Comments

Last year I felt this was the most embarrassing part for me because I couldn't engage much in the form of comments. But today I'm happy that this year I was able to engage in the form of comments. I make sure I respond to the comments at least on my posts even though I find it hard to do more comments on posts from others. I still do it but comparatively less. Hope I can improve that in the coming years. Let's see.
