A nod to the Matchy Matchy trend

Do you know the matchy matchy trend?

I discovered the name of this fashion trend out of simple curiosity. One day, while going through my photo gallery, I realized that in several of my photos, my husband and I were dressed in matching outfits, without having planned it. What's more, on many occasions, when getting dressed, we realized that we had chosen similar colors in our clothes, and that's how we went out on the street.

As I mentioned before, moved by curiosity, I did a web search on What do you call it when you combine clothes with your partner?, and I found several pages that talked about this trend, especially popular in this month of love and friendship. To delve deeper into the topic, I selected this article that I share with you here..

According to the article, this trend, also known as Keo peul look, originated in Korea. The article explains that it's not just about giving a touch of coordination, as has happened to my husband and I, or a wink as you read in the article, hence the title of my post. No! In Korea the trend involves dressing exactly alike, head to toe, making the matchy matchy matchy trend evident.

I confess that the only time I planned to match my outfit with my husband's was years ago for a college party. I had bought a beautiful purple dress, and I was excited about the idea of my husband wearing a tie in the same color. We had a little trouble finding one, but after browsing through several men's clothing stores, we got one in shades of purple that I loved. The day of the party, we dressed in a harmonious way, combining with style the trendy color of that year and creating a nice **matchy matchy effect.

Descubrí el nombre de esta tendencia de la moda por simple curiosidad. Un día, mientras revisaba mi galería de fotos, me di cuenta de que en varias de ellas, mi esposo y yo habíamos salido vestidos con la ropa combinada, sin haberlo planeado. Es más, en muchas ocasiones, al vestirnos, nos percatamos de que hemos elegido colores similares en nuestra ropa, y así salimos a la calle.

Como les comenté anteriormente, movida por la curiosidad, realicé una búsqueda en la web sobre ¿Cómo se llama cuando combinas la ropa con tu pareja?, y encontré varias páginas que hablaban de esta tendencia, especialmente popular en este mes del amor y la amistad. Según el artículo, esta tendencia, también conocida como Keo peul look, se originó en Corea. Les confieso que la única vez que planeé combinar mi atuendo con el de mi esposo fue hace años para una fiesta universitaria. Había comprado un hermoso vestido morado, y me entusiasmaba la idea de que mi esposo llevara una corbata del mismo color. Nos costó un poco encontrarla, pero luego de recorrer varias tiendas de ropa para hombre, conseguimos una con tonos de morado que me encantó. El día de la fiesta, nos vestimos de manera armoniosa, combinando con estilo el color de tendencia de ese año y creando un agradable efecto matchy matchy.
