Showing Up, Even When You Don't Feel Like It

Hi fren. Today was one of those days where you would rather not. I had a minor setback because a plan I had made to run a couple errands didn’t fall through. After waiting for hours, I was forced to restart my day with a lot less motivation. I managed to do some productive work and checked a few things off my list; but there’s still so much more left to do.

I have to say I’m getting pretty good at managing my time and my mind. Life on the spectrum is a mess. Usually it takes a little window of opportunity to get the fuel and drive to get things done. Once you miss that window, well good luck getting your zeal back on. I have realized that setting short term goals goes a long way in helping me stay on track. The goals or plans of what I want to accomplish have to come in small doses else I get overwhelmed.

Call me weak but that’s what works for me. I have learned how to moderate the pace at which I aim to be productive and I couldn’t be happier for it. For instance, I have been struggling with the consistency of my posting on hive, I decided to put myself on a Ten - days course. Guess what? I failed. I failed woefully because my mind couldn’t keep up with the pressure. So, I decided to do 5 days and here I am on day five.

Funny thing I barely realized today’s article would complete the streak. So, this was an effortless feat for me. I was able to do this without any hassle because my mind didn’t process a five - day streak as a lot, so there was less pressure on me to get it done. Next on my list is another five days of sharing at least one post on hive. I normally write my articles at the end of my day, I do that then call it a night. However, I want to challenge myself to write first thing in the morning when I wake up.

As much as I don’t like pressure, I do like pushing myself, challenging myself to further impress me. I am literally the only one who can motivate myself to get anything done. My motivation doesn’t come from external factors or from people; I have nothing to prove to anyone but myself. So, here we are.

This is a lazy post, because the start of my day sort of introduced some chaos to my routine. But, I have to show up to finish my streak. I couldn’t be happier. I hope this post motivates you to show up for yourself and your work; regardless of how little your input is.

Again, Consistency over Intensity any time any day.

Thank you for stopping by. ❤️

You are doing well Sugar.

Once you get into a routine I find it easier to keep doing it. If you look at this account you will see I am almost posting daily! More than on my main!
