While growing up as a kid, there were a lot of unwise things that, in one way or the other, I engaged myself in, not knowing how dangerous the things are.

During my tender age, I loved playing with fire. I was so delighted at the beauty of fire, how the flame danced and mixed up with the air, how things burnt easily on fire and how it shone forth light in the night, everything looked like magic to me.

I even love watching a scene of a fire breathing circus act in a movie. This is an act where a flow of fire is being produced by blowing out a fluid from the mouth over an open flame.

So one day, when my parent and our neighbors aren't around, my siblings and I decide to replicate this act. We took kerosene from my mom's shop, as a fluid to be used, and also took a box of matches along with us, then ran to the back of my mom's shop to play.

We began the fire breathing play. The thing was so fun, that it remained so small that we would burn down the homeowner's house and my mom's shop. Unknown to us, someone was filming the event. When my mom and the neighbors were back in the night, the person who witness the scene now came to report us.

Even though they beat us after finding out, the only thing we blamed ourselves for back then was that, it was the reason why the homeowner chased my mom out of the shop, and it was also the reason my mom stopped selling provisions and went into another business that run losses.

At the age of 5-7years, my mom used to barb our hair with a blade. Whenever our hair was too bushy and there was no NEPA light. At that time, there was nothing like a generator in our area. So one day, even as there was NEPA light, I decided to barb it myself. I took a new blade and went to one corner of the house. I cut just a small part of my hair and found it difficult to continue, so I had to leave it like that.

However, when my parents came back and saw it, I had to lie to them that I didn't know what happened, to afford being beating. Later in the night, I was taken to a barbing salon nearby to cut everything off. They had to entered prayer because they thought it was someone that cut it for ritual stuff. But till now, the part that I cut refused to grow hair, which I didn't know why, and also, my parents never found out what happened back then.

So my advice to everyone that will get to read this, is to be watchful of what their children watch as kids and what they will do in front of their children. The early brain, developed as a child, has a lot of impact, either a positive or negative impact on their life.

Thanks for your time on my post!.

I too was amazed the beauty and magic of fire that I almost burnt my bedroom's curtain down. Immediately I saw its impact I stayed away from it.
That is why some movies/cartoons require parents' or guardians' presence to enlighten kids on peculiar things they see.

Ah fire? Was quite a thrill to me then. You even make me recall how I would light a match stick and put it in my mouth, then the fire will go off and I let the smoke out like magic through my mouth.

Infact to show you it's not just empty talk, my entry into this contest was a topic on fire– THERE'S FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN– please share with me.

Congrats again on your victory.
