There is some excellent technique and usage of color here! However, I think the color would've been so much stronger if it were being used all over the face rather than just a couple of spots (as a light shining from below would actually appear). As is, it looks sort of... incomplete. Well-drawn, no doubt, but like the highlights are missing from everywhere they should be.
Nevertheless, strong work! Emeka clearly knows his craft. Thank you for sharing these. 😊
Everyone has a perspective from which they view works. For me the work looks well finished and I feel the artist don't want to warm up the whole face with highlights.
The reflection light from under on those portraits is really cool that way.
Fair enough! I'm just left wondering what exactly that highlight represents in that case, since it's only in certain portions of the face, clearly a stylistic choice.
