RE: Splinterlands Once Again Shows Us The Demand

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

Can't believe I read this all and I have zero assets on SPL, but you wrote if pretty fluently.

I have one question, SPS seems to be at an ATL by far.

I want to buy in, the problem is, I see all these use cases for land, vouchers, DEC, pack holding etc, but I don't see any mention of what is SPS good for (remember I'm a n00b).

Why would anyone buy SPS if there are so many other assets that seems to have more utility than the native token itself? Or is SPS just the governance token

This is true, right now the main factors the SPS gives you...

  • is voting rights on proposals
  • a general 10% APR
  • GLX tokens for about 2 more months (these are worth pretty much nothing at the moment)
  • Vouchers (Which are getting more use case but seem to be max valued at $0.20 so I expect them to max out at $0.10 - $0.15 when demand is high enough.

I haven't seen much other then rumors that SPS would be in land as a bonus I'm not counting on that anymore.

The biggest factor I think everyone is hoping for is this flywheel concept. It's where DEC is suppose to hold peg at $0.001 with a range of $0.00095 - $0.0015 (I think) and SPS can be burned for DEC. So the thought is people would burn their SPS for DEC to be able to buy more assets and do more things in the game thus increasing price pressure on SPS.

I personally want to see sponsors, events, pack sales etc start to be returned in value back into splinterlands assets and in particular SPS. It only makes sense that this should be the road in 2024.
