Saludos a todos fabulosa comunidad Home Solutions,han pasado los días y yo me quedé motivada a participar en la iniciativa Preparando tu casa para navidad a la que fui invitada por @adalathu en su post con el que participó, total que terminó y yo nada que tuve listo mi post.

Igual agradezco muchísimo la invitación de nuestra querida moderadora porque, aunque tarde, ya estoy por aquí compartiendo en este lindo espacio y eso es lo que importa.

Y eso que tenía mis fotitos ya por aquí guardadas porque, efectivamente, este año hubo movimiento, y ya les cuento.

Greetings to all the fabulous Home Solutions community, the days have passed and I stayed motivated to participate in the initiative about preparing the home for Christmas that I was invited to by @adalathu in her post with which she participated, so it ended and I had nothing ready my post.

I'm still very grateful for our dear moderator's invitation because, even though I'm late, I'm already here sharing in this nice space and that's what matters.

And I had my little pictures already stored here because, indeed, there was movement this year, and I'll tell you about it.

Comenzó la presión de los niños por decorar de navidad.

La preparación de mi hogar para navidad.
Mis niños pensaban que sería muy fácil iniciar los preparativos de la navidad, ellos no sabían que la casa no estaba lista.

Desde el 1ero de noviembre comenzó la presión de nuestros hijos para que decoráramos nuestra casa, ya querían sacar todas las cosas de navidad y disfrutar el ambiente navideño.

Desde ese día comenzaron a preguntar y a animarnos, pero esos días fueron muy ocupados para mi esposo y para mi y los manteníamos esperando pidiendo que entendieran que debíamos desocuparnos.

The kids started putting pressure on us to decorate for Christmas.

Since November 1st, our kids started putting pressure on us to decorate our house; they wanted to take all the Christmas things out and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere.

Since that day, they started asking and encouraging us, but those days were very busy for my husband and me, so we kept them waiting, asking them to understand that we had to free up some time.

Nos pasamos el interruptor navideño.

Cuando por fin mi esposo y yo entramos en sintonía con ellos nos dimos cuenta que la casa estaba bastante feíta para colocar la decoración.

Teníamos varias paredes sucias y les explicamos que lo mejor era pintar primero, la navidad pasada compré una pintura que jamás utilizamos así que eso era una ventaja, ¡la pintura ya estaba!.

Mi gran sorpresa fue cuando mi esposo nos explicó que una de las paredes que queda debajo de un gran ventanal no podía simplemente pintarse porque la humedad la había dañado mucho, así que en ese caso tocaba primero repararla para poder pintarla y luego ya podíamos decorar.

We turned on the Christmas switch.

When my husband and I finally tuned in to them, we realized that the house was quite ugly to put the decoration.

We had several dirty walls and explained to them that the best thing was to paint first, last Christmas I bought a paint that we never used so that was an advantage, the paint was already there!.

My big surprise was when my husband explained to us that one of the walls that is under a large window could not simply be painted because the humidity had damaged it a lot, so in that case we had to repair it before painting it and then we could already decorate.

La solución verdadera.

Ya mi esposo se está cansando de que esta pared se deteriore tan rápido y cada vez que podemos mejorar tiene que rasparla la pintura por completo, aplicar un producto para la humedad y así poder pintar de manera que valga la pena.

La casa es muy grande y cuesta mucho esfuerzo hacerle una renovación o mantenimiento por completo, con esto les quiero decir que un año se atienden unas cosas y otro año se resuelven otras ya sí vamos, pasa el tiempo y cuesta ver todo en su punto óptimo al mismo tiempo.

En esta oportunidad Oscar me propuso lo que el piensa que puede ser la solución definitiva a la humedad por el agua que entra por las ventanas: revestir la pared de cerámica, porcelanato o algún recubrimiento de plástico de esos que están de moda.

Bueno, estuve de acuerdo y emprendimos la búsqueda de posibilidades, incluso ya tenía en mi cabeza una idea bastante clara de lo que me podía gustar.

The true solution.

My husband is already getting tired of this wall deteriorating so quickly and every time we can improve it he has to scrape the paint completely, apply a product for moisture and then be able to paint so that it is worth it.

The house is very large and it takes a lot of effort to make a complete renovation or maintenance, with this I want to tell you that one year some things are attended to and another year others are solved or we go, time passes and it is difficult to see everything at its optimum point at the same time.

On this occasion, Oscar proposed to me what he thinks can be the definitive solution to the moisture from the water that comes in through the windows: to clad the wall in ceramic, porcelain or some plastic coating that is in fashion.

Well, I agreed and we set out to search for possibilities, I even already had a pretty clear idea in my head of what I could like.

la búsqueda de revestimientos.

Las fotos que pueden apreciar en este post tienen que ver con estas partes de la casa que se han afectado y también con algunas que tomé mientras recorrimos algunas tiendas especializadas para escoger el material.

Iniciamos por una tienda de revestimientos de PVC, y aunque me gustaron bastante y ofrecen productos que están de moda actualmente, el precio me pareció bastante elevado en comparación con los materiales mas duraderos.

Y así fuimos recorriendo tiendas, explorando los materiales, hasta que encontramos un lugar, muy cerca de la casa de mis padres en el que tenían revestimientos hermosos y por suerte habían muy buenas ofertas en porcelanatos.

¿Saben lo increíble que es que tengas la oportunidad de comprar un porcelanato hermoso que ni soñabas poder tener, casi por el mismo precio de un material, que por muy novedoso que sea no se compara en calidad?

Esto fue una gran suerte, encontramos un porcelanato que es una imitación de piedra de mármol travertino crudo que de verdad me mató. Realmente el primer porcelanato que me había gustado era de color gris y asemejaba un concreto de obra limpia, ese concepto me encanta, peeero... hay un gran problema, el piso de la sala de mi casa es bastante antiguo, es un mosaico en tonos tierra y ocre y la fuerza que tiene lo hace muy difícil de combinar, así que el diseño de mármol le iba muchísimo mejor y acordamos quedarnos con ese.

Searching for coatings.

The photos you can see in this post have to do with these parts of the house that have been affected and also with some that I took while we went to some specialized stores to choose the material.

We started with a PVC coatings store, and although I liked them a lot and they offer products that are currently in fashion, the price seemed quite high to me in comparison with the more durable materials.

And so we went through stores, exploring the materials, until we found a place, very close to my parents' house, where they had beautiful coatings and luckily there were very good offers on porcelain.

You know how incredible it is to have the opportunity to buy a beautiful porcelain that you didn't even dream of being able to have, almost for the same price as a material, which, however new it may be, does not compare in quality?

This was a great stroke of luck, we found a porcelain that is an imitation of raw travertine marble that really killed me. Really the first porcelain I liked was gray and looked like clean construction concrete, I love that concept, but ... there is a big problem, the floor of my living room is quite old, it is a mosaic in earth and ocher tones and the force it has makes it very difficult to combine, so the marble design looked much better to him and we agreed to stay with that.

Preparativos de la colocación y resultado.

La extensión en la que se debió colocar es bastante larga, realmente es a todo el largo de la casa, lo bueno es que no era a la pared completa, si no una altura de sesenta centímetros que quedan debajo del ventanal, se podría decir que todas las paredes del lado noreste de la planta de abajo de la casa, son el ventanal.

También realizaron un trabajo con una cerámica muy linda para hacer que ya no entre mas agua por la ventana y las cosas mejores verdaderamente. Esta cerámica me encanta porque imita las vetas de la madera, pero además tiene un tono grisáceo que para esta parte de afuera si queda bien.

En la planta de abajo tenemos un festival de pisos muy extraño pero imagino que construyeron la casa poco a poco y los espacios eran delimitados, luego nosotros integramos espacios y los pisos quedaron unidos, pero cambiar los pisos será un gran proyecto para otro año, no sé si el próximo, o algún día. A pesar de que el mosaico es muy antiguo está en buen estado y tiene su encanto bien vintage, por principio ecológico no quiero quitar nada que esté funcionando bien.

Ya todo está terminado y ahora viene contarles sobre la pintura, pero esto lo dejo para una próxima vez, porque sobre esto tengo unas buenas anécdotas que necesitan su espacio y ya no los quiero aburrir por hoy. Pero los dejo que vayan imaginándose que colores pueden quedar bien con las paredes que dan al frente de estas ventanas.

Espero que les guste la elección de revestimiento que hicimos para esta solución, nosotros tenemos muchos sueños para la casa pero debemos ir dando los pasos poco a poco y juntando esfuerzos en pareja para lograrlo.

Placement and result preparation.

On the ground floor we have a very strange floor festival but I imagine they built the house little by little and the spaces were delimited, then we integrated spaces and the floors were joined, but changing the floors will be a great project for another year, I do not know if next, or someday. Although the mosaic is very old it is in good condition and has its well-vintage charm, for ecological principle I do not want to remove anything that is working well.

Everything is already finished and now comes to tell you about the painting, but this I leave for another time, because on this I have some good stories that need their space and I do not want to bore you today. But I leave you to imagine what colors can look good with the walls that face these windows.

I hope you like the choice of cladding we made for this solution, we have many dreams for the house but we must take the steps little by little and join forces as a couple to achieve it.
