Clean white furniture! Yes you can.

Saludos a todos querida comunidad, vengo a visitarlos en este miércoles de Tips para contarles sobre una solución muy efectiva que aprendí de mi mamá para limpiar los muebles de cuero.

Greetings to all dear community, I come to visit you in this Tips Wednesday to tell you about a very effective solution I learned from my mom to clean leather furniture.

Los muebles de cuero son muy elegantes y cuando son de color blanco se potencia este nivel de elegancia y aporta mucho estilo a la estancia, pero el color blanco tiene un inconveniente que baja sus puntos ante cualquier persona tentada a comprar o tapizar muebles de ese color.

Leather furniture is very elegant and when it is white it enhances this level of elegance and brings a lot of style to the room, but the white color has a drawback that lowers its points to anyone tempted to buy or upholster furniture of that color.

La suciedad
Los muebles blancos se ensucian de nada, tan solo de mirarlos ya se arruinan y hay que tener mucho tiempo disponible. En mi caso, tengo 4 hijos que viven encima de ellos jugando sin restricción y no tengo nada de tiempo libre para utilizarlo en limpiar muebles. Así que toda la mugre se va acumulando por meses y tan solo unas dos veces al año es que me puedo disponer a blanquearlos de nuevo.

Dirt
White furniture gets dirty in no time, just by looking at it, it gets ruined and you have to have a lot of time available. In my case, I have 4 children who live on top of them playing without restriction and I don't have any free time to use it to clean furniture. So all the dirt accumulates for months and only twice a year I can get ready to bleach them again.

Estos son los ingredientes para esta preparación

Mi mamá me enseñó a hacer está mezcla, no se de dónde la encontró y se que no la ha usado porque ella no tiene muebles ni blancos ni de cuero, pero las madres siempre están pensando en los hijos y ella lo anotó para que yo la probará.

My mom taught me how to make this mix, I don't know where she found it and I know she hasn't used it because she doesn't have white or leather furniture, but mothers are always thinking of their children and she wrote it down for me to try.

Está solución se logra mezclando partes iguales de agua tibia y jabón líquido de lavar platos con una cucharada de bicarbonato por cada taza de agua.

This solution is achieved by mixing equal parts of warm water and liquid dishwashing soap with one tablespoon of baking soda per cup of water.

El agua debe estar tibia pero no caliente porque entonces te quemaras las manos cuando introduzcan la mezcla en la esponja.

The water should be lukewarm but not hot because then you will burn your hands when you introduce the mixture into the sponge.

Cualquier jabón líquido para lavar los platos debe funcionar bien para esta preparación.

Any liquid dishwashing soap should work well for this preparation.

El bicarbonato de sodio es clave en esta preparación, por lo general siempre que se le incorpora en alguna receta de limpieza es un éxito por su poder.

Baking soda is key in this preparation, and whenever it is incorporated in a cleaning recipe it is always a success because of its power.

La restregada

Advertí tener la mezcla lista en un envase donde mi mano pudiera caber, porque la técnica que utilicé fue sumergir una esponja en la mezcla, exprimir y "restregar* en la superficie del mueble. No les voy a decir que tengan que restregar tan fuerte pero si constante y un mueble es algo grande así que sí, si cansa.

I warned to have the mixture ready in a container where my hand could fit, because the technique I used was to dip a sponge in the mixture, squeeze and scrub on the surface of the furniture. I'm not going to tell you that you have to scrub that hard but constant scrubbing and a piece of furniture is kind of big so yes, it does get tiring.

Comparación

En la foto anterior pueden ver qué el cojín del medio aún no lo había limpiado y es muy notable la diferencia cuando ya se ha aplicado la mezcla con la esponja sobre la superficie.

In the previous photo you can see that the middle cushion had not yet been cleaned and the difference is very noticeable when the mixture has already been applied with the sponge on the surface.

Después y Antes	Antes y Después

Para mí esto fue de nivel milagro! Y es que a veces nuestras cosas se deterioran o ensucian hasta un punto que ya no las queremos limpiar más y preferiríamos tirar las al basurero, pero resulta que con paciencia y dedicación podemos recuperar nuestros muebles y sentirnos a gusto nuevamente.

Sometimes our things deteriorate or get dirty to a point that we don't want to clean them anymore and we would rather throw them in the trash, but it turns out that with patience and dedication we can recover our furniture and feel comfortable again.

No es que esté exagerando porque realmente mis muebles aún no habían llegado a un punto tan terrible, pero lo digo como reflexión general hacia muchos objetos que tenemos, se van deteriorando y no tenemos la paciencia de darles un cariño para que nos sigan siendo útiles por un mayor tiempo.

It is not that I am exaggerating because really my furniture had not yet reached such a terrible point, but I say this as a general reflection towards many objects that we have, they are deteriorating and we do not have the patience to give them a love so that they continue to be useful for a longer time.

No solo es un asunto de economía, también tiene que ver con la conservación del planeta para reducir la gran demanda desenfrenada por la fabricación de artículos que consumen recursos energéticos y de materia prima.

It is not only a matter of economy, it also has to do with the conservation of the planet to reduce the great unbridled demand for the manufacture of items that consume energy resources and raw materials.

Mira como queda la mezcla de sucia al final

Una recomendación final que puedo darles es que tengan dos envases, uno con la mezcla y uno con agua sola, yo no lo hice y tuve inconvenientes, porque la mezcla se iba ensuciando a medida que avanzaba, en cambio, si utilizan un envase adicional enjuagan la esponja antes de volverla a sumergir en la mezcla limpiadora.

A final recommendation I can give you is to have two containers, one with the mixture and one with water only, I did not do it and I had problems, because the mixture was getting dirty as it progressed, instead, if you use an additional container rinse the sponge before submerging it again in the cleaning mixture.

Resultado Final

Quedé tan feliz con la nueva presencia de mis muebles que me pareció un milagro, recuperé mi orgullo por ellos y les veo larga vida. Cuando terminé toda la limpieza les pasé un paño limpio con un producto marca Fuller que sirve para acondicionar el cuero y darle brillo y el resultado fue más sorprendente aún.

I was so happy with the new presence of my furniture that it seemed like a miracle, I recovered my pride in them and I see them living a long life. When I finished all the cleaning I wiped them with a clean cloth with a Fuller brand product used to condition the leather and give it shine and the result was even more surprising.

Ahora, me pregunto: será que también funciona para muebles de tela y cualquier otra superficie? Que piensas tú?
