Larry Is Alive March 01, 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for friday, the 1st day of March, 2024. We are indeed marching on. Today is also #HPUD. Hope you'll also take part in it? On my own part, I have powered up 10 hive to boost my account and also contribute to the long growth of the hive ecosystem.

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from South Korea. He finds out that beginning on this day in 1919, protesters in Seoul started the March First Movement, a series of rallies calling for Korean independence from Japan.

From South Korea, Larry goes to Ethiopia. He finds out that on this day in 1896, the Ethiopian army of Emperor Menilek II defeated the Italian army in Adwa, Ethiopia.

From Ethiopia, Larry goes to Israel. He finds out that on this day in 1922, Yitzhak Rabin, an Israeli leader and soldier who, as Prime Minister of Israel, engaged in peace talks with the Palestinians and received a share of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994, was born in Jerusalem.

From Israel, Larry goes to Canada. He finds out that on this day in 1994, Justin Bieber, a Canadian musician known for his fresh-faced appearance and catchy pop tunes, was born in Stratford, Ontario.

From Canada, Larry goes to Kenya. He finds out that on this day in 1983, Lupita Nyong'o, a Kenyan actress who received an Academy Award for her film debut in 12 Years a Slave (2013) was born in Mexico City, Mexico.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from Turkey. He finds out that on this day in 2019, Zhores Alferov, a Soviet physicist who, along with Herbert Kroemer and Jack S. Kilby, received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2000 for their work that lays the foundation for the modern era of computers and information technology.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
