Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for tuesday, the 7th day of May, 2024. Manchester United suffered an embarrassing defeat yesterday from Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. The game ended (4-0) against Man United. The defeat has pushed them down to 8th position with three games to go. Will they get a european ticket at the end of the season? The remaining three games will tell.

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the Japan. He finds out that on this day in 1946, Ibuka Masaru and Morita Akio formed Sony Corporation, a leading Japanese manufacturer of consumer electronics devices.

From Japan, Larry goes to the events of the WW1.
He finds out that on this day in 1915, a German submarine sank the Lusitania, a British ocean liner, indirectly contributing to the United States' entry into WWI.

From Japan, Larry goes to Scotland. He finds out that on this day in 2023, David Hume, a Scottish philosopher best renowned for his philosophical empiricism and scepticism, was born in Edinburgh.

From Scotland, Larry goes to Romania. He finds out that on this day in 1918, following its defeat by the Central Powers in World War I, Romania was required to make territory and financial reparations under the Treaty of Bucharest.

From the world of space exploration, Larry goes to the USA . He finds out that on this day in 1896, H.H. Holmes, the first documented serial killer in the United States, was hung; he admitted to 130 killings, while others say the true number was more than 200.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from Japan. He finds out that on this day in 1911, Honda Ishirō, a Japanese director best known for his Godzilla films, was born in Yamagata prefecture.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
