Larry Is Alive 20 April 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for wednesday, the 20th day of April, 2024. Arsenal will be hoping to redeem themselves from the (2-0) home loss to Aston Villa last weekend and push on for the EPL title when they play away to Wolves today at the Molineux Stadium by 19:30 GMT. Hope they win to keep mountain a challenge for this year's title.

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the USA. He finds out that on this day in 2021, Derek Chauvin, a former police officer, was found guilty of killing George Floyd, an unarmed African American man whose neck he knelt on while attempting to arrest him in 2020. Floyd's death sparked massive protests against police brutality and renewed interest in the Black Lives Matter movement.

From the USA, Larry goes to the world of car racing. He finds out that on this day in 2008, Danica Patrick, an American race car driver, won the IndyCar 300, making her the first woman to win an IndyCar championship event.

From the world of car racing, Larry goes to Canada. He finds out that on this day in 1968, Pierre Elliott Trudeau of the Liberal Party became Prime Minister of Canada; during his tenure, he discouraged the French separatist movement, oversaw the development of a new constitution, and established connections with China.

From Canada, Larry goes to Turkey. He finds out that on this day in 1924, Turkey's Grand National Assembly decided to adopt a full republican constitution, bringing the Ottoman Empire to an end. General Mustafa Kemal, who had first proclaimed the Turkish republic around six months before, became the republic's first president.

From Turkey, Larry goes to Japan. He finds out that on this day in 1871, the first postal service run by the government in Japan began operations between Tokyo and Ōsaka.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from Germany. He finds out that on this day in 1889, Adolf Hitler the leader of the Nazi Party from 1920 to 1921, as well as the chancellor (Kanzler) and Führer of Germany from 1933 to 1945 was born in Braunau am Inn, Austria.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
