Larry Is Alive #178 - Special Edition November 01, 2023: I Am Alive Challenge HPUD

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for Wednesday, the first day of November, 2023. Happy nsew month everyone. This hunt is a special edition as i will be including my power up #HPUD report too. I have joined many hive users to participate in this month's #HPUD. If you are yet to do so, tou have about an hour to key in too

For this month, i have powered up about 10 hive as part of the exercise. My hive balance before the power up was about 78.5... hive as could be sen from the screenshot.

Thereafter, i powered up 10 hive.

And that's it as i awit my badge of participation later.

Larry turns his attention to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the world of arts and literature. He finds out that on this day in 1611, The Tempest by William Shakespeare was purportedly performed for the first time.

From the world of literature, Larry goes to Portugal. He finds out that on this day in 1755, Lisbon was severely affected by an earthquake that destroyed over 9,000 structures and killed up to 30,000 people.

From Portugal, Larry goes to Turkey. He finds out that on this day in 1922, at Kemal Atatürk's demand or behest, the Grand National Assembly passed a resolution to dissolve the Turkish sultanate.

From Turkey, Larry goes to Antigua and Barbuda. He finds out that on this day in 1983, Antigua and Barbuda became independence from the United Kingdom, with Vere Bird serving as its first Prime Minister. Happy independence anniversary to them.

From Antigua and Barbuda, Larry goes to world organisations.He finds out that on this day in 1960, The Maastricht Treaty came into force, thereby establishing the European Union.

From world organisations, Larry goes to space exploration. He finds out that on this day in 1994, NASA launched its Wind spacecraft on a mission that included a "halo orbit" between the Sun and Earth to explore the space environment there.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today from the world of movies and entertainment. He finds out that on this day in 1997, at the Tokyo International Film Festival, James Cameron's Titanic, a drama about the lost ocean liner, had its first public screening; the film went on to become one of the biggest grossing of all time, and it made Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet international stars.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
