Larry Is Alive #136 Sept. 01, 2023: I Am Alive Challenge HPUD: Special Edition

Hello everyone. Welcome to September!!! Today is the first day of the month of September, 2023. It is also a special edition of the Larry is Alive hunt. It is the HPUD. As it is customay in the hive ecosystem, every first day of the month hivians power up their hive. Larry on his own part decides to take part in this month's HPUD exercise.

Larry then turns his attention to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from Poland. He finds out that on this day in 1939, Adolf Hitler invaded Poland, starting World War II. The deadly mix of German blitzkrieg tactics, French and British inaction, and Soviet treachery consigned Poland to quick destruction.

From Poland, Larry moves over to the Soviet Union. He finds out that on this day in 2004, Chechen rebels seized control of a school in Beslan, North Ossetia, Russia; the siege, which ended two days later, led to the deaths of more than 330 people, the majority of them being children.

From the Soviet Union, Larry moves over to Libya. He finds out that on this day in 1969, Muammar al-Qaddafi led a group of young army officers who toppled the king and established Libya as a republic.

From Libya, Larry moves over to the world of literary writings, literature. He finds out that on this day in 1952, Ernest Hemingway's final significant piece of fiction, Old Man and the Sea, was published in Life magazine; it was subsequently published as a book, and it won the Pulitzer Prize in 1953.

From the world of literature, Larry moves over to India. He finds out that on this day in 1951, Australia, New Zealand and the USA signed the ANZUS pact. The "ANZUS Pact" formally known as the Pacific Security Treaty is a treaty between the aforesaid countries and signed in San Francisco, California, which its main air is tore providing mutual aid in the event of violence and to settle disagreements peacefully. "ANZUS" is an acronym derived for the first word letters of the three countries that signed the pact.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in history from India. He finds out that on this day in 1896, A. C. Bhaktivedanta, better known as Swami Prabhupāda Indian religious leader and author who in 1965 established the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, popularly known as the Hare Krishna movement was born in Calcutta, India.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
