Meta Launched Threads app! Microblogging is the next in Social Media ?

It seems that the microblogging segment is going to get more competitive in social media platforms because finally, the meta has released their microblogging app. Meta is the parent company that owns Facebook WhatsApp, and Instagram applications and now another application is added to the portfolio which is based on microblogging. Social media has become an important place for all of us where we share multiple things including the media and written content. I believe microblogging is getting more attention because not everyone has enough time to write or read long-form content.

This launch is kind of a signal that the microblogging segment on social media is going to get more attentive and this can also give the competition to Twitter but that might take some time. Twitter and Threads, both are Web 2 Applications and owned by companies so we cannot expect a censorship environment on such applications and even as of now it is not sure if the meta will be providing monetization on the content.

It seems that Meta is trying to give an alternative to the people on social media to have a conversation on an open domain like Twitter in limited words. As per the update, the users who are part of Instagram will be able to log in on the application through the same and the Instagram has got a massive number of users across the world. the good thing about Facebook is that the company has got bigger user base which they can utilize for any product that they build. While we cannot ignore the user base on Twitter, this way competition can be in place for Twitter if things go well. Ultimately this is a Web 2 application so there will be multiple restrictions and controls that are usually followed by such companies for the users.

Instagram parent company Meta on Wednesday debuted Threads, which is billed as a text-based conservation app that can potentially rival Twitter. You can sign in with your Instagram credentials and keep your usernames, followers, and verification status.

The LeoFinance team has taken the lead here because they have built the microblogging application on the blockchain where we need not worry about censorship and monetization. I am surprised that why a big company like Meta has chosen the name as threads which is already taken by leofinance. This shows that the Leo team thinks futuristic.

I am happy being on the thread that is built on the blockchain and will continue to use but for the experience purpose maybe I can give it a try to see how it works and how even I can use it to promote the blockchain best thread. I'm not sure at the moment because the application is not live for everyone but may be the case, we can use this application to promote the blockchain and get more attention from the people who are still not on Twitter, but they will be on the meta owned thread application.

I am not sure if the micro-blogging is going to be so big and some big companies are trying to enter this segment. Facebook was known to be a platform where we can share long-form content along with photos and videos, but they were missing on the microblogging side. Finally, after this, they have built something on the microblogging front, and this can be a good competition for Twitter where Ellen is already trying to make it more profitable by following different changes or strategies. We know that a lot of people are leaving Facebook because they are not enjoying it anymore and because of this region Twitter has also got more people so probably the meta company is trying to retain those users by giving them the option in the form of a microblogging application.

It is going to be interesting how the company plans things to deal with the competition in this segment where Twitter is already a leader. I'm sure the Meta founder must have some plan in place to deal with the ongoing competition as well as to bring more users to their new thread platform.
