Diversified Investing Approach on Splinterlands

Gaming on the Web 3 is getting more interesting and with the splinterlands it has already been fantastic. The game works in a model where one season is for two weeks and after the end of the season we get rewarded and we also have the daily reward which is part of focus. It's called play to earn a game but I believe it's play and earn where we play the game for entertainment and earn to grow different components in the game. I have observed that the gaming experience is much better on the higher level and this is the reason why I suggest levelling up your card if you want an even better gaming experience. Undoubtedly on the higher level you are going to get a better reward which is something that can make you happy along with a nice gaming experience.

We have a bunch of assets in the game and it is important as a player or the investor to accumulate different assets. I have been doing it for a long and even now I have the same strategy when I am trying to accumulate different assets including the NFT cards. Splinterland is a collectable card game where we use these cards to play against another player on the battleground. It means the importance of cards is certainly more because if we can have powerful cards in the deck it can help us play well on the battleground. With powerful cards we also can improve the winning ratio and more winning means the better reward we are going to get. Some assets that I have been accumulating in the game I am going to discuss in this post-

Splintershards (SPS)

This is the governance token of the game and this was launched two years back. When the token was launched its price was almost $1 but after a few months its price started going down and this is probably the more people got the token and they started dumping in the market. Splinterlands is the first-ever project as far as I'm aware which has done a year-long airdrop for SPS. Token distribution for a long period is good for the users but I believe that it will also impact the token economy because more tokens will be circulated and it is going to impact the price because this will create the selling pressure in the market. I have been accumulating this token since the beginning because I believe being a governance token it will bring multiple benefits for the holders in the long run and even there have been a couple of instances that have benefited the holders.

As of now, I have over 141K tokens in my game account but the plan is to make it 150K as soon as possible and take it forward to 200K down the line. Currently, the price has gone slightly up and the APR is also very good which is almost 15% if you look at this snapshot and I believe this APR is good enough to keep the tokens as a stake in the game account.

Vouchers

This is another token that was launched when the Chaos Legion Edition was released. This token has a limited use case in the game where this can be mostly used in promotional sales via some discount that can be availed against this token. I think that the use case for this token is quite limited and with enhancement, more value can be added to this so the game team should be looking into it. Even though the price is not good but I have been accumulating this token and also used couple of times to convert it into sps but now I have not done it for a long because of the low pricing market. I expect a better price for the voucher token so that I can convert it to the SPS because I believe this is a better use case that I can do to increase my SPS holding.

I earn vouchers every day for licence holding as well as for SPS stake and there is no benefit for keeping these tokens in the game account as we get with sps. The only reason I hold these tokens is because I expect better pricing later and whenever that happens I'll be using the opportunity to convert it back to SPS because ultimately my focus is to go my SPS holding more than any other token in the game.

Dark Energy Crystals (DEC)

This token is like a currency of the game because we can use it to buy almost every asset. This is known as the stablecoin of the game where 1000 DEC tokens should be worth $1 and its not there but much closer to that. There was a price increase for this token after the launch of the rebellion presale but not since that sale time is over so we can see the price going down and it may go further down. Because of the dec token people get the discount on rebellion pack buying but now that the sale is over and soon we are going to have the general sale for rebellion packs in the game.

The other token backed by Dec known as Dec batteries was also launched for limited. I was able to convert some dec into batteries as you can see in the snapshot above. I have both the tokens in my wallet and I prefer not to use these because if there is some good opportunity in the game then I will prefer to use this balance however Dec batteries are not tradable in the market. I also expect that after the launch of lands in the game things are going to change and probably the dec token will be getting even more utility in the game which can trigger its price or maybe it will bring some additional benefit for the people who hold this token.

These are some of the tokens that I hold in my game account by following the diversified approach and I continue to accumulate more whenever I get a chance however more focus is still on the SPS. The reason why I'm focused more on SPS is because it is a governance token that brings multiple benefits and that too it pays me an APR of 15% approximately. Another benefit that we cannot ignore as a player is the reward multiplier and I get the higher reward multiplier as per my token holding. If I can increase my holding further then it is going to put me in the higher league with the higher multiplier and this is what I want to achieve.
