Changes coming to splinterlands rewards - Glint & The Reward Shop!
The splinterlands game is going through overhaul these days. This month we have seen how the change in leaderboard and league removal haa gone through. This change is almost settled by now and I think the overall outcome is pretty good because I can see lot of play a stocking about this change and they are happy with whatever changes have been implemented in the game. Even my gaming experience has been pretty good after the change as I can unlock more season chests this time. Now there is another twist that we are going to have another change in the game which will remove the reward system completely.
Basically this change is to bring more innovation on the reward part of the game and like we get season chest as of now but this will be removed and will be as of now but this will be replaced. The changes have already been announced that you can go through this post to have detailed understanding about it.
The Glint and Reward shop
The new changes are scheduled to happen in April month after the end of current season. As per the new change we will not be getting season chests. A new non transferable token will be introduced and it is going to be called glint token. This is not transferable however this will be used on shop to buy anything that you like and this way we will be having the option to accumulate more token and buy something big. This sound good but I don't know how it will be working after a launch and how the community is going to take it because this is something I don't know. Even I am not sure how this change is going to be in the game but I am looking forward to see the overall outcome after implementing this change in the game.
As of now the current reward system is pushing reward automatically our way and we can claim it anytime we want. With the new change this will be optional to use because will be getting the tokens after the season end and as per the update daily quest will also be removed from the game. I hope this change brings more fun that make the players stick to the game. They will be multiple options available on the rewards shop that we can buy using glint token.
The new system is currently planned to be released on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024

After the change Glint token is going to be a valuable asset in the game which we will earn through the season progress. The game is also going to reward more gland to the players winning in modern format and this way they are encouraging more people to play in the modern format than wild. My card collection is not good for the modern because I hold card from the older edition so I don't like this change.
I will continue to play while for a while and will see how the difference will be in rewards between modern and wild. I can't start playing modern right away because of the card shortage however after the comparison if I feel the need then I will continue to buy more cards from rebellion edition. I did buy more cards from the Chaos legion edition last year but it is not good enough to start playing in modern because they are some amazing players holding high level cards and to complete with them I also need to have the similar deck.
I expect that this change will increase the demand for rebellion cards in the game hamen bhi earlier editions like rift watchers or chaos lesion etc. if there is more demand for Chaos legion then it's good because we can see better prices for this edition cards.
I am trying my best to unlock as many asked season chest this season because this is going to be the last one to aware such reward and then it will be the time to understand how the new change works in the game. It was saying some time to be familiar with the change and you never know if the change can be exciting and even better than earlier reward system. It is clear that we are not going to have SPS as an option to buy in reward shop but they will be many cards which we can buy using the glint tokens and team will continue to add more from time to time.

This is a lot of change thanks for the explanation. I wonder how players will react to this change. I’ve stopped playing both wild and modern for a while, I majorly only play brawls. Maybe things will change later. Thanks for this post.
I have been playing splinterlands for quite some time and lately I have been having the feeling that there has been way too many updates as of late and that doesn’t give the users a strong base to develop their battle strategies going forward.

My experience of battle is improving daily, even though I find it difficult to make progress in Diamond League.

Hope to see some good changes from the 2nd of April, Glint token is a great idea to gather more to unlock something huge! Most importantly, we can buy what we want, there will be our choice with our assets, that's amazing.
For the first time, I have unlocked the diamond chests this season and accumulated around 22, hope to collect at least 30, may be for the last time we are going to grab some rewards in the old style.
