Army of Crypto: Exploring the Play-to-Earn Game on ONIX Blockchain

Army of Crypto aka AOC is a new game on the hive platform and its built on the ONIX blockchain. Recently @leofinance has collaborated with this game and they create a community page for the Army of Crypto game. I got to know about this game post the collaboration and thought of checking about the game. I have been trying to go through and learn more about the game to see how it works and what are some basics. Web3 Gaming is a growing segment and these days I can see a lot of new games. Its good because with blockchain gaming we are going to see the next level of gaming experience.

Earlier gaming was known for entertainment but now this is combined the earning opportunity and because of this more people are coming to games. There are so many projects that are doing pretty well in web3 space and even many new projects are coming up. I like this concept of blockchain gaming the fun is combined with the rewards and I know a lot of people who are doing amazing in this space which I think is a great opportunity for many of us to be part of. I'm not very good at gaming but still I enjoy it because investing is another part that I can do while playing the game for fun. There is no fund spending time on traditional games rather I'll prefer the blockchain games where I can have some valuable assets.

AOC (Army of Crypto) Game

Its a PlaytoEarn or we call it a web3 game built on the Onix blockchain. This is a new blockchain and I have never heard about it before but after going through this I got to know that it is a growing chain that is supporting gaming projects and it is not just dedicated to this game instead it is open to any gaming project. Its a card game like splinterlands and here also we need to have certain strategies to win. It may sound easy that you can win the game but I don't think it is because if your strategy works well then you might win. You win Hertz token which is a game token and this can be used to upgrade cards. Because this is a card game so higher-level cards increase the possibility to win more and also enhance the overall gaming experience.

Getting Started with the Army of Crypto

We need to create an account in the game. Usually, in hive games, we can do the login using our hive account and this is the only requirement but since this is built on a different blockchain so its mandatory to create an account and this can be done using this account creation link

Currently, this game is in Alpha mode which means you might encounter some bugs while playing the game and the team must be working out to fix those issues that would be reported by the user or if they figure out something which is not going well.

There are three types of packs available -

• Essential Pack
• Ultimate Pack
• Legendary Pack

There are different features for the different packs and the price is also different however for the legendary you can see that one pack will cost $300. This is a big amount but I am sure there must be some good benefits for the people who buy and they will be getting additional benefits as compared to the essential and ultimate packs.

There is some promotion going on that these cards can be purchased with a 50% discount or kind of cashback that will be refunded after the purchase so I am trying to get it activated for me and then I will buy packs. the Onyx token price has gone up in the last few days and this can grow even more because I see that this game has got more attention now. It's always great to get a discount and this is the reason why I'm waiting for the confirmation once received then I will go ahead and buy the packs. all these packs can be purchased with Onix tokens only which can be purchased through the three exchanges and we also have the option to use hbd for buying Onix.

This game needs to be installed as we can not play it on the web portal. Its available for download on Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Android. I hope they can make it available through the web as well because that is something most people prefer to play gaming and these days it is quite popular however no sense it is available through the installed version which does not take too long so we can play this way.

I have installed the game on my pc and after logging in I can see this window which is like some instruction to be followed while playing the game. I have no idea how this game will be played so I will go through the instructions and then I will see how I will be able to play the game because I am new to this. The gameplay is the secondary thing I believe because first I need to set up my account with proper cards or the packs whatever is recommended and then I can think about playing the game.

Whitelist program

They have a programme called Whitelist and to get whitelisted some requirements need to be filled by any player. it's a promotional event and if you get whitelisted then you are going to enjoy some additional benefits so I believe it's worth getting whitelisted now since the offerings are going to be better and more profitable in future. I will be trying to buy three packs and get myself whitelisted but I'm not sure if there is anything else I need to do so we'll be in touch with the team to follow the process whatever is required.

HIVE/HBD to ONIX Swap

This is big news for the hive community because now we can buy the Onix tokens using hbd or the hive so it has become easy for us. Now we need not go through exchanges and all this can be done following some simple steps that are mentioned in the post

The current market price will be taken for the conversion and equivalent tokens will be transferred to the wallet address provided in the memo. It is very important to mention the wallet address in the memo because that will be used to transfer the tokens. This process will not take long and also it is very easy since we just need to transfer the hive or HBD to their official account while keeping the wallet address in the memo field. I believe this is one of the biggest features that they have provided to the community and we mostly use HBD or the hive token to buy assets which has now become easy and I'm sure the community is going to like it. I am glad that I have decided to join the game at the right time when I don't need to visit exchanges for token buying and all I can do by using my hive wallet which is always easy and inconvenient.

Game Play

When I go on the battle option in the game then I can see this and a challenge option is also there but I am not sure how I am going to play this so for now I have not used it however I will be spending some time to go through the process. It is like that the important part is to understand first before I go on the battleground as I might lose the battle and for this reason, I am not starting it. this battleground page looks quite easy but kind of blank so I'm not sure what sort of options will be added later on to make the gameplay easy or even better but to be honest it looks quite blank to me.

I also need to create a deck for the cards that I hold in my account and through that deck, I will be able to play the games using this challenge. so it is a card battle game like the Splinterlands but the concept is different however I believe this should be fun playing and as far as rewards are concerned, this should also be good. This game is currently in Alpha and they must be building a lot of stuff in the game to make it even better I believe whoever joins now will be benefited in the long run.

Conclusion

The game looks good to me as far as the concept is concerned. The overall experience is good so far however may be on the graphic side they need to work a bit more. I do understand that every project needs some time and with upgrades, they make things better so I expect that they will follow the same strategy on the game like many others do. I am planning to join this game shortly and will share more about it once I do. as already mentioned that I missed the part that it does not have the gameplay mechanism through the browser. I think many of us avoid to instal the game and playing because nowadays most games are available through the browser and this game project also needs to understand it. Providing the application is always good because some people like it that way but we also cannot ignore the fact that many people prefer to use it through the browser and I am one of them.
